You define these units by navigating SAP implementation menus and specifying details for each one. Finally, you assign the organizational units to each other to create sales areas and determine how sales processes will be executed.

Enterprise Structure:

In SAP SD, configuring the enterprise structure involves defining the

organizational units and establishing the framework within which sales and
distribution processes will be executed. Here's an overview of the key
components and steps involved:

Sales Organization:

The sales organization represents a legal entity or a unit responsible for selling
products or services.
In SAP SD, you need to configure sales organizations to reflect the
organizational structure of your company.
Each sales organization is assigned to a unique sales area and can have its
own sales processes, sales teams, and sales targets.
Distribution Channel:

Distribution channels represent different channels or methods through which

products or services are sold to customers.
Examples of distribution channels include direct sales, wholesale, retail, online
sales, etc.
In SAP SD, you define distribution channels to reflect the various channels
through which your company sells its products or services.
Division:

Divisions represent product lines, product categories, or business units within

a sales organization.
Divisions are used to group similar products or services together for better
management and reporting.
In SAP SD, you configure divisions to classify products or services based on
specific criteria such as product type, market segment, or geographical region.
Configuration Steps:

Sales Organization Configuration:

Navigate to the SAP IMG (Implementation Guide) menu path:

SPRO > Enterprise Structure > Definition > Sales and Distribution > Define,
copy, delete, check sales organization.
Define sales organizations by specifying details such as name, description,
address, currency, etc.
Assign relevant company codes to each sales organization.
Distribution Channel Configuration:
In the SAP IMG menu path:
SPRO > Enterprise Structure > Definition > Sales and Distribution > Define,
copy, delete, check distribution channel.
Define distribution channels by specifying details such as code, description,
and relevant sales organization.
Division Configuration:

In the SAP IMG menu path:

SPRO > Enterprise Structure > Definition > Logistics - General > Define, copy,
delete, check division.
Define divisions by specifying details such as code, description, and relevant
sales organization.
Assignment of Organizational Units:

After defining sales organizations, distribution channels, and divisions, you

need to assign them to each other to create sales areas.
This assignment determines the structure of your sales organization and how
sales processes will be executed.
Assign sales organizations to company codes, distribution channels to sales
organizations, and divisions to sales organizations.
By configuring the enterprise structure in SAP SD and defining the necessary
organizational units, you establish the foundation for executing sales and
distribution processes effectively within your organization.
