Mental health?
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being .It affects how we
think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make
healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and
adolescence through adulthood. People can experience different types of mental illness or
disorder such as depression, phobias, panic disorder and they can often occur at the same time.
Mental illness can occur over a short period of time or be episodic. This means that the mental
illness comes and goes with discrete beginnings and ends .It also can be on-going or long
lasting. Mental health are equally important components of overall health. For examples,
depression increases the risk for many types of physical health problems particularly long-
lasting conditions like diabetes, heart diseas and stroke.Similarly,the presence of chronic
conditions can increase the risk for mental illness.A persons mental health can change
overtime,depending on many factors.
therefore, it is important to know the factors that contribute to this problem so that early
intervention can be done. among the risk factors for mental health conditions are
environmental factor. This factor takes into account a person's surroundings such as the area,
workplace and friends. Relationships with people around like friends become a factor in mental
problems such as fights, jealousy or being deceived by one's own friends. Next, family factors It
is found that a person has family problems such as parents who often fight at home or families
who suffer from divorce problems often suffer from depression. It can also be caused by
parents who put too much pressure on their children and place high expectations for excellent
academic results. Finally, the job factor know about stress at work. when it is necessary to
perform tasks within the given time, meet monthly and annual targets and for those who are
unlucky it may be necessary to deal with a fierce employer.This often contributes to depression
problems, especially for jobs that require high commitment, time, and energy.
Now I will share with you all about possible sign or symptoms of a mental health disorder.
Mental health problem are common,so it’s important to be aware of possible signs. First,
feeling worried, depressed, guilty or worthless. Anxiety could be a sign of a mental health
disorder too. Physical symptoms of anxiety may include shortness of breath, chest tightness,
headache ,sweating and trembling . Second, changes in sleep, weight ,personal hygiene or
activity at school or work may hint at a mental health issue. This includes insominia or sleeping
too much. Besides, for some people eating more or less than usual, weight gain or rapid weight
loss could be a warning sign of a mental health problem, a person may express a desire to hurt
or kill themselves. They may harmed themselves or thinking about ways to die. Some people
may have thought of harming others. If someone is suicidal or planning to harm themselves or
others, they need urgent help.
There’s a lot of treatment for mental health disorder. There are many different treatment
options available. However, no treatment really works for everyone. Individuals can choose the
treatment, or combination of treatments, that is most effective. Some treatment for mental
health disorder is psychotherapy is the therapeutic treatment of mental illness provided by
trained mental health professionals. Psychotherapy explores thoughts, feelings, and behaviors,
and seeks to improve individual well-being.Next is medicine, medicine does not cure mental
illness directly. However, it can help with symptom management. Medication paired with
psychotherapy is the most effective way to promote recovery.In addition, case management
coordinates services for individuals with the help of case managers. Case managers can help
assess, plan and implement a number of strategies to facilitate recovery.Finally, a self-help plan
is a unique health plan in which an individual addresses their condition by implementing
strategies that promote well-being. This self-help plan can address health, recovery, triggers or
warning signs.
