Therefore, our chronological observation will have as a principle to highlight important points

and Corcoran's emphasis on nursing data, information, and knowledge was a novel change in
direction in the late 1980s, and others immediately adopted the definition. The “method of analysis”
is a technique used by ancient Greek mathematicians (and perhaps by Descartes, Newton, and
others) in connection with discovery of proofs of difficult theorems and in connection with discovery
of constructions of elusive geometric figures. She said she crafted a cake of her face this past fall to

technology rather than on the technology itself. It supp orts the practice of all nursing specialties, in
all sites and settings, whether at the basic or advanced level. The model described how both research

She said Ana Mendieta, a multidisciplinary artist who depicted emotion and anger through body-

Along the way, we cover topics such as the role of sets (and of the dichotomic conception of set

discussed the need to understand “how clinical nurses structure clinical problems and how they ask
questions of the information system.” These views drew researchers involved in the study of decision
making under the rubric of nursing informatics. In addition, these views accented the need to
consider the clinical decision-making process in the design of information systems. With an
