ABSTRACT

Technology is a part of human nature. It has affected every aspect of people's

lives, work, changing the way we act, behave, learn, and live. Almost all of us are using

technology because it provides tools, procedures, and knowledge that promote

development for the benefit of all humankind. Since almost all technology is created to

make life simpler and more enjoyable, humans do benefit greatly from technological

progress. Understanding how to use technology in the teaching and learning process

successfully benefits both teachers and students. Numerous colleges and institutions

are adopting online learning, remote work, and other initiatives as a result of the

COVID-19 pandemic to help slow the spread of the virus. Students may find it helpful to

fully adapt to remote learning with the help of a variety of new tools and technology that

are now readily available and designed to enhance student achievement. This study

was conducted to know all the benefits and how technology plays a big role in every

aspect of all individuals who are using it during this time of pandemic.

Qualitative research collects and analyzes data based on the responses of the
participants. A collective and descriptive findings which are non-numeric in nature was
applied to this research. Data were gathered through interviews and observations of
specific participants. Results showed that technology really has a huge impact in the
learning process of students and it is a great help in the improvement of students in
their studies. Results are discussed in terms of its impact to both students and teachers
in the learning process.

CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND IT'S BACKGROUND

Introduction

Human nature includes technology. It has permeated every part of people's lives, altering

how we function, work, study, and live. It is used by everyone since technology brings processes,

tools, and information in order to encourage development for the betterment of mankind.

Humans do gain significantly from technical advancements, as practically all technology is

designed to make life easier and more enjoyable.

6
According to Egbert (2009), the students are today surrounded by technology, where access

to a vast collection of information is only a fingertip away. Furthermore, learners have gotten

more involved in using technology as technology has become more accessible. Because of their

access to online games and other sites that satisfy their pleasure and delight, the majority of

students have gotten engaged in technology. In 2013, a survey was given to the Chicago Public

Schools by Ehrlich, Sporte, Sebring, & the Consortium on Chicago Schools (2013). It was found

that 92% of students had some form of technology and internet access in their home, but fewer

than half of the students use that technology for work and school related activities.

Teachers and students both benefit from understanding how to use technology

effectively in the teaching and learning process. Technological devices have been revolving

around the daily life of teachers and students, utilizing technology for their different educational

purposes. Teachers use technology to interact with their students in a timely and convenient

manner. Furthermore, teachers can use technology to explain lessons that students must learn

without

risking their health during this pandemic. To prepare for their lesson plans and present the

courses, the instructor must know how to use a platform to conduct online classes using

technology such as mobile phones, PCs, and laptops. Moreover, it is really amazing how

technology gives students a lot of information like Articles, Books, and many other references

that can be a source of knowledge for them.

In the midst of pandemic, technology stands as the life saver of everyone because we

experienced an accelerating shift to a digital environment. The rapidity and scale with which

Covid-19 has spread in just a few months is reshaping the way we think and act in response to

7
major issues in times of crisis. We have become reliant on our technology devices to conduct

human-to-human encounters outside of our houses since we are being forced to move our lives

indoors and online. The Department of Education conducts new methods of learning such as

modular and online learning in which enables teachers and students to work via a variety of

digital channels, allowing them to communicate and for information to be disseminated quickly

with the use of technology. It is also important for these classrooms to address the needs of all

students. Technology supports the need for divergent learning approaches, helping to create a

sense of community as well as meaningful experience (Futurelab, 2009). In education,

technology has made it possible to conduct new ways of learning more effectively especially to

teachers and learners in times of pandemic.

Hence, this study was conducted to know how technology is vital in our society,

especially in school during the pandemic. Furthermore, this research aims to inform teachers and

our fellow students that technology can have a big influence in every aspect of our life.

Additionally, this research aims to know how the students and teachers use technology

in the teaching-learning process.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The general problem of this study is: To know the benefits of technology in education during this

time of pandemic.

1. What are the benefits of technologies in terms of;

1.1 E- learning;

1.2 school operation; and

8
1.3 ICT competencies of a teacher and students

2. What is the impact of technology in learning?

3. How do the students cope up with the new way of learning using technology?

4. How does technology help students and teachers to communicate or interact with each

other during the pandemic?

5. Does the use of technology in school increase student achievement?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The results of the study are deemed significant to the following individuals/groups:

Teachers: In this research, the teacher may gather the information that can be used in

providing teaching strategies and techniques in executing practical, meaningful, and engaging

learning to the students. Furthermore, it can help them to improve their teaching methods and

personalize learning, allowing them to be more productive and efficient as instructors despite the

pandemic.

Students: This study will be helpful to develop the technological skills of every student.

It can provide them with learning that can lead to their preparation for a better future. This study

will facilitate a guaranteed learning process for the students that enables them to develop their

knowledge, skills, and moral values.

School Administration: The outcome of this study can be their tool to assist in the proper

use of technology of the teachers and students in integrating to their teaching and learning

process. As a result of this study, they can inform the school staff about the benefits of the

instructional tool with the integration of technology to enhance the pedagogy. In addition, they

9
will equip the teachers to achieve the curriculum goals in spreading the knowledge, skills, and

values that the students deserve.

Future researchers: This study will be beneficial for future researchers to improve their

research papers by providing references or ideas related to their study. It will also assist future

researchers in working and learning more efficiently than before.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The general intent of this study will examine the role of technology in society, especially to

the students and teachers at this time of pandemic. The general problem of this study will help

the researchers to know how the use of technology can help the teachers and students to deal

with their hardships in this kind of situation.

The study will focus on Junior High School students and teachers of SFNHS. With a number

of 20 respondents, sufficient data will be gathered to support the present study.

The respondents were chosen because they are the ones involved in the situation related to

this study.

More so, this study is conducted to gather information that will prove that technology is

playing a big part in the life of teachers and learners. In relation to this, the study intends to

discover some experiences from the students and teachers who are more likely to spend their

time in using technology.

Lastly, the researchers will examine the qualitative data that will be gathered through the use

of interviews. Hence, the present study will be a qualitative study.

CHAPTER II

Theoretical Framework

Relevant Theories

This study is aligned in Piaget(1995) Theory of Constructivist, Dewey (1993) Connectivism

Theory(Siemens, 2004, para. 23), And Constructivism Theory Vygotsky(1896-1934)

Constructivism Theory

The Constructivism Theory of John Dewey, Lev Vygotsky, and Jean Piaget emphasizes

that good and real learning information is not based on what the instructors say or what the

learners heard even if the learners repeat this information again. In addition, the constructivism

theory emphasizes that the learners construct and build the information inside their minds based

on their experiences and prior knowledge. Even more, this construction of the information

influences the learners’ environment, society, and language. Likewise, each learner has their own

11
methods, way of understanding, and experiences to build knowledge, which affects the learning

process.

This theory has an implication for the present study because it was stated in this theory that

learners are constructing the information in their minds based on their experiences and the

influence of their environment, society, and language. Because of the pandemic, there is a big

change in the learning environment of the students wherein technology plays the biggest role in

studying. It is a must for students to make adjustments in their studying in order to cope with the

integration of technology in their learning process.

Connectivism Theory

The Connectivism Theory of George Siemens proposed that learning is derived from

forming connections. Educators must help students connect previous knowledge to new

knowledge, and students must be able to recognize gaps in their knowledge as well. This theory

embraces the idea that learning is no longer a completely internal process. Students should have

opportunities to connect knowledge and ideas, independently seek understanding, and connect

with others to share knowledge via technology.

This theory has an implication for the present study because it was stated in this theory that a

connection between educators and students is a must for learning to take place but in modern

times, students are now capable of seeking their own understanding of things to be learned by

12
using technology. Because of the pandemic, students can't go to school and study there, but with

the use of technology, the connection between the students and their teachers remains even

though not in the traditional setup. At this time, we can see the importance of the integration of

technology in learning. With the use of it, the connection to learn will not stop and it can also

help the students to develop their attitude of being independent and just use technology to guide

them.

Constructivist Theory

The Constructivist Theory of Lev Vygotsky proposed that learning is a collaborative process and

that social interaction is fundamental for cognitive development. Students learn best when

working collaboratively with those whose proficiency level is higher than their own, allowing

them to complete tasks they are not yet able to do independently.

This theory has an implication for the present study. Since the pandemic started, students are just

staying in their own homes but still, social interaction is not gone. Technology intervention is

made in the educational system at this time. Students are able to interact with their fellow

students and even with their teachers through the use of different technological products. It is not

that hard for students to deal with these changes since technology is part of their generation and

they can also get more information that is useful in their studies with the use of technology.

Related Literature

13
E-Learning is at the forefront of integrated Science, Technology, Engineering,

Mathematics (STEM) and Computer Science (CS) Education from preschool through 12 th grade.

We create and analyze novel instructional materials and assessments, plan and research

professional development initiatives, and do research on STEM and CS learning in and out of the

classroom. This Study examines learning in the age of technology, describes changing practices

in technology-rich classrooms, and proposes new ways to support teachers as they adopt

technology in their work For an instance, giving a reporting task, the student will come up

creating a presentation on a laptop that will be her/his tool to fulfill the task given. Teachers also

make lessons through digital devices as they adopt these teaching practices. Early models of

educational change implied that if teachers had access and enough equipment and training,

classroom integration would follow (cf., Apple Classrooms of Tomorrow; Fisher, Dwyer, &

Yocam, 1996). But due to lack of equipment and tools, it affects the effectiveness of online

learning.Teachers are forced to adopt this kind of set-up due to the closing of schools caused by

the sudden pandemic. In this paper, We discuss barriers and then describe specific strategies for

circumventing, overcoming, and eliminating the changing barriers teachers face as they work to

achieve technology integration. Additionally, Teachers need to be helped to change the way they

teach rather than just how to use computers. Furthermore, with the advanced technology teachers

are able to record instructions for their students. With the advancement of technology, it enables

teachers to answer questions of their students.

School Operations are having trouble coping up with the distance learning implemented

by the Department of Education. According to a survey in 2021, 30 percent of Filipino

respondents perceive the current distance learning model was around 20 to 50 percent effective.

14
On the other hand, 14 percent of respondents stated that such a learning model is 80 to 100

percent effective. Students are hindered by; slow internet connection, lack of digital devices that

makes them left behind with their batchmates who have all the privilege to have access to these

advanced ways of studying where technologies are involved. Furthermore, some of these

students are not capable of studying alone without the guide of a teacher. This new way of

learning makes students spend most of their time facing the monitor rather than talking to a real

human. It also made them more dependent on the internet. With enough tools such as; mobile

phones, prepaid internet, and personal laptop, helps them follow instructions seen in many

platforms including YouTube and Google. Recorded videos sent by their teachers helps a lot in

studying a lesson of the day. Teachers are also having trouble giving instructions through

recorded presentations and teaching virtually.

Contribution of Technology in a student's achievement. According to Chen et al.

(2015), a survey suggests two-thirds of students use mobile devices for learning and believe that

technology can help them achieve learning outcomes and better prepare them for a workforce

that is increasingly dependent on technology. Students use technology to achieve their desire to

support their learning by using technology to help them to have good grades and give them

learning depending on what they want to know or analyze. Moreover, the belief that it will help

not only in education but also in their future work, which we know is that almost all of the work

depends on technology.

15
This type of involvement of children with technological tools enabled them to transform

into technological ways of learning that can help them excel in their academic activities, among

other things.

Impact of technology in Learning, using digital devices makes it hard to focus on the

goal when there are a lot of distractions, like games, social media and many more.Shivakumar

and Manichander (2013) discuss education within the 21st century and how technology is a

powerful tool for students. They emphasized collaborating with one another and incorporation of

blended learning, as well as information and communication technologies." At first, gadgets are

really used for entertainment and communications, it is difficult for youngsters to adjust and

adopt this routine where they are receiving mail and messages while having their time for fun.

For those who find excitement in using these tools as their new way of learning, this method can

be considered as effective. Through various channels of communication, students are

exchanging knowledge and information to their fellow students. Despite the hurdles, with

education technology, students can access online information more easily while learning itself is

more reliant on multimedia than ever before. Technology offers the potential to unlock the doors

to learning for all learners including the enhancement of student learning and engagement.

ICT competencies of a teacher. Kozma (2005) has confirmed that ICT can help deepen

students’ content knowledge, engage them in constructing their knowledge and support the

development of complex thinking skills. He reported that ICT alone cannot create this kind of

teaching and learning environment. Teachers must know how to structure lessons, select

16
resources; guide activities and support the learning process, many traditionally trained are not

prepared to take on these task

Quality learning is not created by technology; rather, it is created by having access to appropriate

and timely learning opportunities that are planned by the instructor and delivered through

technology.

Related Studies

The following are the studies culled in the study to shed light on the problem being

undertaken.

According to Ashby (1999), the institutions of society are not adapting themselves to the

consequences of technological change. Ashby (1999) stressed that technological change

increases, as the order of magnitude of events which makes the pressure of our present values

become intolerable – the recent advances in technology are having unpredicted and alarming

increased second-ordered effects. The use of technology/electronic media may be beneficial to

both students and faculty. The quality of education to students will be improved overall. Better

ways of teaching result in good ways of learning, according to Ashby (1999). The use of

projectors, Internet, tele-course, video, and coaching the inexperienced faculty will invigorate

and improve our faculty performance, thereby improving the standard of education in our school

as explained by Ashby (1999). In the world of today, technology plays a vital role in education

compared to yesterday. Chalk and blackboards have been replaced with marker pens, screen,

videos, and projectors. The use of technology will elevate the mode of teaching and eliminate

fatigue that leads to monotonous job functions. Faculty would be able to have less time in

17
preparing lesson notes and have more spare time to spend on research and other administrative

functions of teaching. Knowledge of innovative tools in teaching would enable faculty to be

better prepared for courses outside their specialization and will ease the burden of teaching

overload. The encouragement of faculty to use technology to teach their courses allows faculty to

enhance their skills and knowledge to perform in their subjects and courses outside the field of

their specialization according to Smith (2000). From personal experiences and theoretical

observations of the use of technology rather than manpower at some institutions, the use of

technology makes people capable mentally, physically, and emotionally of achieving their goals.

Considering these benefits, it may make faculty resistant to fatigue, distraction, and embellish

their performance.

According to a study by Jamieson-Procter et al. (2013). "ICT integration in education

generally means a technology-based teaching and learning process that closely relates to the

utilization of learning technologies in schools" states that, because students are familiar with

technology and will learn better in a technology-based environment, the issue of ICT integration

in schools, specifically in the classroom, is critical. The use of ICT will lead to successful

learning with the aid and support of ICT elements and components, because the use of

technology in education adds significantly to pedagogical aspects. It is true to suggest that

technology-based tools and resources may help students study nearly all courses more

successfully, including mathematics, physics, languages, arts, humanities, and other key areas.

Furthermore, when it comes to efficient learning with the use of computers as learning aids, ICT

gives assistance and complementary support for both instructors and students. Computers and

technology, according to Jorge et al. (2003), are not meant to be replacements for good

18
instructors; rather, they are meant to be add-on supplements for improved teaching and learning.

The need for ICT integration in education is vital since, with the assistance of technology,

teaching and learning are not just happening in the school setting but may also happen even if

teachers and students are physically separated.

According to the research "The Introduction of Mobile Devices and Tablets in Schools

Shifted How Students Learned" by Thomson et al. (2014). Teachers who utilize technology have

become polarized as a result of this. Some instructors are considered creative because they

switched from a teacher-centered to a learner-centered approach. The advantages that tablet

computers may provide, according to Thomson and his colleagues, have revolutionized these

teachers' lessons. Others, however, who are considered instrumental teachers, appear to utilize

the gadget like a book behind the glass.

Social media networking had been utilized as well for instructional purposes in the

classroom. It has been used by teachers to promote teacher-students and student-students

interaction Aydin (2014). However, the results of the study done by Aydin reveal that students

prefer passive behaviors in terms of their interaction with their teachers. Aydin, therefore,

recommended additional related studies that intend to explore the possible factors affecting the

level of interaction between teachers and students and in social media networking. This study

attempts to determine instructors' and students' technological expertise and how they use

technology in the classroom, as well as the effects of students' actions on how they engage with

their teacher.

CHAPTER III

Research Methodology

This chapter presents the research design, research instrument, validity and reliability of

24
instruments, data gathering procedure and the analysis of data.

Research Design

This study aimed to know the benefits of technology in the students and teachers of SFNHS

in new learning modalities using the phenomenological method type of research.

According to Wojnar & Swanson & Schonwald (1988), phenomenological investigations

allow for deep exploration of research questions and a means to gather the evidence necessary to

capture both individual lived experiences and the essences of the phenomena of these lived

experiences. Descriptive phenomenology, unlike other branches of phenomenology

(e.g.,hermeneutic, existential, and generative historicist), emphasize describing human lived

experiences to describe universal essences. Essence is a concept in phenomenological research

referring to universal human constructs derived from collective lived-experience phenomena.

According to Fouche (1993), Husserl’s descriptive phenomenology aimed to identify the

meaning of an individual’s lived experiences or to extract meaning from their everyday life.

Husserl rejected the assumption that objects exist independently from the subject. However,

while a phenomenon is defined by the meaning it has for its subject, anything outside of the

immediate experience must be disregarded.

Research Instrument

In this study, the primary research will use survey questionnaires. The number of days

allotted in interviewing the survey questions was 2 weeks.

25
According to Hellevik (2019), survey questionnaires are the most widely used in collecting

data from the respondents in the field of social sciences within the field of their study. He added

that it can be performed by face-to-face interaction and by calling over the phone where the

researchers or observers ask questions from the respondents.

In addition, V. Preston (2009) stated that a survey questionnaire is a technique used for

gathering statistical information about different fields such as attributes, attitudes, or actions of a

population by the means of constructing and presenting a set of questions.

In general, the survey questions are mostly used instruments by the researchers in gathering

information needed by the researchers in condensing and interpreting data.

The questionnaire for this current study was designed to know the benefits of technology

integration in teachers and students of Saint Francis National High School.

Validity and Reliability of Instrument

In this current study, the research questions are being raised and made by the researchers.

Moreover, the researchers looked at a variety of literature and studies to come up with

questions that are both relevant and necessary in gathering information in this study. This is done

with the help and supervision of the specialists, especially the instructor of this research and

experts that make a great contribution to this study.

In addition, after revising the other parts, the question raised in this study underwent face

validity and respondent validation.

Data Gathering Procedure

26
The survey questionnaires raised in this study entitled “BENEFITS OF TECHNOLOGY

INTEGRATION IN SCHOOL IN THE MODERN WORLD” went through various processes

and validation before it was presented to the respondents.

Before the interview commenced, an endorsement letter was presented to the principal prior

to obtaining the researchers to conduct the data gathering procedure.

Then, an informed consent letter is a formal permit presented to the respondents which serves

as an important tool to inform them about the study and their parts in data gathering procedure.

Fortunately, the respondents permitted the researchers to conduct an interview by answering

the survey questions in the form of face-to-face interview and audio recording alongside

guaranteeing them that they will remain anonymous.

Data Analysis

Qualitative data are collective and descriptive findings which are non-numeric in nature.

This data can be observed and recorded; thus it can be collected through interviews, survey

questionnaires with open-ended questionnaires, focus groups, observations, and interpretation of

images and video recordings.

Qualitative data analysis involves the process and procedures for analyzing data and

providing some level of understanding, explanation, and interpretation of patterns and themes in

textual data (Valcheva, 2021).

27
According to Iokakuuta (2021), qualitative analysis aims to increase the overall

understanding of the quality, characteristics and meanings of the researched topic. Therefore, the

researchers will analyze the data gathered through the process of transcription, organization, and

interpretation of data.i

Transcription of data. The researchers translate the data gathered in the recorded

interviews, audio, video recordings into a written form since most of the dtaa are recordings and

jotted notes. So in the process, the researcher will also review all the gathered data. Transcription

is the action of providing a written account of spoken words and may appear to be a

straightforward technical task which will be systematically reviewed, grouped into themes, and

analyzed for content. (Mondada, Lorenza 2007). In this process, the researchers translate the data

in an exact word-for-word manner. Thus during the interviews or observation, the researchers

need to write down all the data.

Organization of data. It was stated in an article on Sisense that data organization is the

practice of categorizing and classifying data to make it more usable. Data gathered must be

properly organized for you to collect qualitative data to be effective in the analysis process.

Different tools such as tables and graphs, help in organizing data. Furthermore, the researchers

need to arrange the data in order, so that it can easily be read and worked on.

28
Interpretation of data. In an article posted in Forumplus Blog, data interpretation is defined

as the process of reviewing data through some predefined processes which will help assign some

meaning to the data and arrive at a relevant conclusion. The interpretation of data involves taking

the result of data analysis, making inferences on the relations studied, and using them to

conclude. Furthermore, the researchers put the recorded interviews and gathered information into

a text-based format. Makes data easier to analyze and share.

CHAPTER IV

Presentation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Data

30
This chapter presents the result of study on the Benefits of Technology Integration In

School In The Modern World. This also includes the interpretation and implication of findings

based on the analysis of relevant data.

For clarity and comprehensiveness of presentation, this chapter is divided into (5) five

parts corresponding to the specific questions raised in chapter I of the study.

Part 1 deals with Category 1 that shows what are the benefits of technologies in terms of

E-learning, school operation, and ICT competencies of a teacher and students.

Part 2 deals with Category 2 that determines the impact of technology in learning.

Part 3 deals with Category 3 that shows how the students cope up with the new-way of

learning using technologies.

Part 4 deals with Category 4 that determines the help of technology when it comes to

communication and interaction between teachers and students during the pandemic.

Part 5 deals with Category 5 that analyzes the use of technology in school if it increases

the students' achievement.

The data gathered shows that the majority of the respondents' responses about the

benefits of technology in E-learning decided based on how accessible it is, and few of the

respondents decided based on the effectiveness. There are some students and teachers who

decide how efficient it is.

Generally, the category decision that the benefits of technology in E-learning reflected

the study of Ashby (1999) stating that better ways of teaching leads to better ways of learning.

All faculties use technology to give lectures. Meanwhile, learners will seek answers in the use of

the internet..Using technology is really accessible for E-learning because the technology

nowadays is playing a big role in education since we are in the midst of a pandemic.

The data gathered shows that the respondents' responses about the benefits of school

operation have equal code decided based on how accessible, efficient and effective it is.

Generally, the category decision about the benefits of technology in school operation

reflected an equal code. It is accessible, efficient and effective. According to Ashby (1999) the

use of projectors, Internet, tele-course, video, and coaching the inexperienced faculty will

invigorate and improve our faculty performance, thereby improving the standard of education in

our school.

Technology in school operations are really accessible, efficient, and effective since all

the teachers and students now depends on technology to have a better learning experience.

ang kaalaman ng teachers and
students po when it comes to
ICT.

The data gathered shows that the respondents' responses about the benefits of ICT

competencies of teacher and students have equal code decided based on how effective and

efficient it is.

Generally, the category decision about the benefits of technology in the ICT competencies

of teachers and students is reflected in an equal code. It is both effective and efficient. The

finding supported the study of Jamieson-Procter et al. (2013), "ICT integration in education

generally means a technology-based teaching and learning process that closely relates to the

utilization of learning technologies in schools". Students will become more familiar with

technology based - environment. It gives them wide knowledge about how ICT works and

prepares for the future.

41
Benefits of technology in ICT competencies of a teacher and students are really effective

and efficient because it helps to aid a better learning process.

buhay ng students.

Para po sa akin, ang impact For both students and teachers

ng technology sa e-learning
ay ang pagtulong sa mga
estudyante at guro upang
kahit na pandemya ay tuloy
pa rin ang edukasyon.

Katulad ng sinabi ko kanina, For students

ang ambag ng teknolohiya sa
akin ay malaki kasi ngayon sa
pagkatuto naming mga mag-

magsaliksik.

Isa po yung technology sa For students

tumutulong sakin ngayon lalo

Technology nowadays is very For both students and teachers

influential kaya kahit saan ay
may malaking impact ang
technologies mapa-
edukasyon man.

Sa tingin ko, may pandemic For both students and teachers

man o wala, ang teknolohiya
ay kailangan talaga sap ag-

role in education lalo na
ngayong may pandemic.

44
The data gathered shows that the majority of the respondents' responses about the impact

of technology in learning were decided based on the students, and few of the respondents

decided based on both teachers and students.

Generally, the category decision about the impact of technology in learning is reflected

on the students. Adapting to technology as a new learning instrument has shifted how students

learned things. The findings supported the study of Thomson et al. (2014) "The Introduction of

Mobile Devices and Tablets in Schools Shifted How Students Learned", it benefited them by

accessible answers to every question. It also allowed learners to think outside the box, it made

them more creative.it also catches their attention, and become more attentive to the class.

Students are really the ones who have been impacted by technology in learning because

they are the ones that are using the technology in their learning.

48
The data gathered shows that the majority of the respondents' responses on how the

students cope up with their studies in new-way of learning decided based on it's easy to cope up,

few of the respondents decided based on it's difficult to cope up. There are some respondents

who decide because of the obligatory.

Generally, the category decision affects the coping up of students in new-way of learning

using technology reflected as it's easy to cope up. The findings supported the study of

Shivakumar and Manichander (2013) discussing that technology is a powerful tool for students.

Some who are lucky enough that afford to buy these tools for their studies seen it as easy to cope

up with the new learning system, while the others who are unfortunate and can’t buy mobile

phones and internet are having hardships coping up. It's easy to cope-up with the new-ways of

learning using technology because technology has a great access to everything. When using

technology, it really makes life easier , especially in education.

The data gathered shows that the majority of the respondents' responses about how

teachers and students communicate and interact were decided based on online platforms, and few

of the respondents decided based on mobile applications. There are some students and teachers

who have other reasons.

Generally, the category decision on how the students and teachers communicate and

interact during pandemic is reflected as online platforms. The findings supported the study of

Aydin (2014) stating that social media networking had also been used in the classroom for

instructional purposes. It has been used by teachers to promote teacher-students and student-

students interaction. Interaction with someone kilometers/miles away from you became so easy

because there are developers who made applications for better communication even when the

person is away from the other. Some of the newly developed applications for communication are

Messenger, Google Meet, and Duo.

Online platforms are mostly used especially now during pandemics because it allows

everyone to have better communication even though the distance of each other is kilometers

think and imagine a subject, they create more meaningful and creative things that they put their

time and effort into accomplishing. Achievers of today’s generation rely on technology for their

project, they are learning through watching video clips. Sometimes internet testing their critical

thinking that they eventually apply to their living.

55
Students' achievement increases with the use of technology because students who

regularly use technology always learn new things and can explore new subjects and can deepen

their knowledge.

It is concluded that the E-learning, School operation, and ICT competencies of a teacher

and students can all benefit from technology. Also, the teachers make it easy for students to

cope up with the new-way of learning using technology.

However, technological devices and the internet have a big impact not only to teachers but

mostly to all students. It states that technology gives them a lot of ideas by searching through the

internet. It can also help in learning a lot when it comes to finding information and providing

answers to all of the questions circulating to their minds.

Technology really makes life easier especially when it comes to communication. Teachers

and students' interaction and communication are happening online using the internet and apps

like messenger and G-meet.

59
These researchers concluded that technology has a great distribution in students' achievements

as long as they will use it in the proper way. Additionally, it states that technology is the factor

that affects the increasing of students' achievements.

Recommendation

Based on the conclusion drawn, the following are hereby recommended:

1. The students are recommended to use the new technology, especially the internet, properly for

them to get the benefits that they need in their studies. They also must be responsible in using it

to avoid any bad consequences in using the internet improperly.

2. The students and school faculty members must have access to the products of technology

especially in computers in order for them to be more aware and familiar on how to use it in their

teaching and learning process. Also, it is recommended for the school to have an internet

connection inside the school premises in order for the students and faculty members to easily

access the different websites or online learning platforms that can help them in their studies and

work.

3. Teachers are recommended to work with parents of their students in frequently monitoring

how students use gadgets and the internet. They also must have the authority over the students in

setting the limit on how, when, and where they will use it.

60
4. Teachers must have additional time for tutorial in terms of using technology in studying. That

tutorial will be for those students who are having a hard time to cope up in the learning process

using technology.
