A WA Location NI ARIMASU A is in Location. (non-living things)

A WA Location NI ARIMASU means that something is in a particular location. The focus of this pattern is
the location of A (non-living things).

(REIBUN)

1. GINKOU WA ASOKO NI ARIMASU. The bank is over there.

2. SU-PA-WA ACHIRA NI ARIMASU The supermarket is that way over there.
3. KURUMA NO KAGI WA HEYA NI ARIMASU. The car keys are in the room.

To make the sentence negative, ARIMASU is changed to ARIMASEN.

2. WATASHI NO KEITAI WA OFISU NI ARIMASEN. My cell phone is not in the office.
3. WATASHI NO APA-TO WA TOUKYOU NI ARIMASEN. My apartment is not in Tokyo.
4. EIGAKAN WA SOKO NI ARIMASEN. The movie house is not there.
5. WATASHI NO MEGANE WA TSUKUE NI ARIMASEN. My eyeglasses are not on the desk.
6. HONYA WA SOCHIRA NI ARIMASEN. The bookstore is not that way.
7. KAGI WA KOKO NI ARIMASEN. The key is not here.

In interrogative sentences, the marker KA is added to ARIMASU.

pattern is the location of A (living things).

6. WATASHI NO TOMODACHI WA IE NI IMASEN. My friend is not in her/his house.
7. BUCHOU WA KAIGISHITSU NI IMASEN. The manager is not in the conference room.

main location should be mentioned first followed by marker NO and then the specific location.

To make the sentence negative and express non-existence, ARIMASU is changed into ARIMASEN. In
some cases, WA is added to locative marker NI for more emphasis
