Introduction Students will be asked to come sit on the mat.

We will play the game of finding the highest number
using place value table.
Teacher to show students how place value table can be
used to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000
Students will be shows how to write numbers in
expanded form. Students will be given a chance to
practise on their whiteboards.
Instructions
5 Min There will be 4 groups. Each group has 17 minutes to complete their

Group1 – Low Ability group will come to the floor where we will
practise numbers that are a little easier until they grasp the concept.
Level of intensity of numbers will increase for the following tasks
Expanded form, Place Value multiplication and division, ordering
decimals.
