Lesson 10 : Multiplication and Division of Integers

Rules :
1. The product / quotient of a positive integer and a negative integer is
a negative integer.

( + x - = - )

( + ÷ - = - )

2. The product / quotient of two negative integers is a positive integer.

( - x - = + )

( - ÷ - = + )

3. The product / quotient of two positive integers is a positive integer.

( + x + = + )

( + ÷ + = + )
4. The product of three negative integers is a negative integer.

( - x - x - = - )

5. The product of three positive integers is a positive integer.

(+ x + x + = + )

Examples :
-4 x ( 5 ) = -20 -10 ÷ ( 2 ) = -5

-6 x ( -3 ) = 18 - 12 ÷ -4 = 3

5 x 7 = 35 25 ÷ 5 = 5

-3 x -4 x -2 = -24
