Job Title Project Engineer

Reporting to Project Manager
Job Purpose Project engineers oversee all aspects of a venture, including planning,
budgeting, personnel, and more. They spend a good amount of time at
project sites, ensuring work is being completed safely and efficiently.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating
activities, and resolving problems. Controls project plan by reviewing
design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending
actions. Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering
contractor contracts.
Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management or construction
management.
Required Work Experience In addition to a bachelor's degree, many employers require Project
Engineers to have 4 or more years of experience in the field and knowledge
of project planning. Most employers require Project Engineers to also have
experience in a leadership role to ensure they can handle the
responsibilities of the job.
Required Trainings Learn the specific methods and technology related to their role during on-
the-job training. Some project engineers take training courses to learn more
about overseeing specific engineering projects, managing complex
information systems, and supervising a crew of professionals. During
schooling, project engineers may get hands-on training through internships

on a construction project. They help to ensure that the construction project
is completed within its projected budget.
Education Requirements A degree in quantity surveying or commercial management accredited
Required Work Experience Qualifying for quantity surveyor internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level
jobs.

Job Title Planner

Main Duties and Responsibilities Create, maintain, review and administer construction schedules and plans.
Liaising with managers and engineers to discuss the progress of the project
and address any issues that arise. Liaise with external contractors and
suppliers to organize the phases of the construction development. Keep the
client team up to date on progress to present to the client. Present
information for internal meetings on the project.
Education Requirements A bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field, including building
management, construction engineering, building studies, surveying and civil
engineering
Required Work Experience Qualifying for internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level jobs.

Job Purpose The main role of Quality Assurance Engineer focuses on improving software
development processes and preventing defects in production.
