Posters
Posters come in color and blackline.

Sequencing Cards
Print and laminate the color set. These can be
displayed in a row on a wall to show the
sequence, or cut them apart to use as cards
the children can sequence. For younger
children, you may want to only use 3 of the
cards. Use the blackline set to print multiple
copies for students.

Books
The bigger, full-color books included are non-
fiction fact books about the life cycles. They
can be shown on a computer projector to a
whole group or print out and assemble to
make a print book.

The blackline little reader is a condensed

version of the bigger book. You can print
multiple copies of these for students.
Puzzle
A 3 part puzzles for children to put the life cycle
in order. Laminate and cut on the lines

Photo Cards
These are full page, full color photographs that
show stages of the plant or animal growth. The
full size posters will look nice in your science
center, but will also use more ink. If you would
prefer to print them smaller, you can! You can
print 2 to a page or 4 to a page. Follow the
directions here:

Seed

The oak tree starts life as a seed, called an acorn.

The acorn has food for the tree inside. This food is
also healthy food for some animals.
Seed

The acorn drops from the tree and is carried away

by squirrels or other animals. Animals bury the
seeds and sometimes forget them. The acorns grow
into trees only if they don’t get eaten.
Taproot
and Sprout

A taproot grows down into the ground and helps the

seed get water and nutrients from the ground. A
sprout shoots out of the acorn above the soil. The
sprout grows leaves.
Sapling

A sapling is a small, young oak tree. It grows stems

and more leaves. It uses the sun, water, and
nutrients from the soil to make food.
Tree

An oak tree grows acorns when it is fully grown.

When the oak is about 20—30 years old, it will be a
grown oak tree.
