Art Appreciation
Art Appreciation
The study and enjoyment of the universal and timeless characteristics that distinguish all great art is
known as art appreciation. The more you appreciate and understand art from diverse periods,
movements, styles, and techniques, the more you'll be able to develop, evaluate, and improve your own
work. Art can be found in everything and everywhere, so it's not just about looking at a painting on a
museum wall. It is necessary to open your eyes to the domain of art to comprehend the world around
you. Only a few people can enter and understand art, which is more than just pretentious museums. Art
appreciation, on the other hand, is defined as:
This allows us to decipher and get our conclusions tested on how we see the things that other artist
wants us to see, on what are the perspective that they are trying to express to the people.
- Acquire the art methods and materials necessary to discuss art orally or in writing.
The method of some artists is unique, new or traditional that is why it is important to determine the
differences and similarities of the methods if we understand the genres that the artist is being engaged,
then we can simply know why they created their craft in that way.
- The ability to recognize movements in art from ancient cultures to modern art.
Art is ever changing, from the cave paintings to canvass, stone sculpture to three dimensional arts
everything seemed to undergo metamorphosis and as long as the essence and conveyed messages are
there it is still an art.
• Albert Einstein demonstrated that knowledge is actually derived from imagination as he stated that
“imagination is more important than knowledge, for knowledge is limited to all we know and
understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and
understand.”
This means that when ideas fuel inspiration, the transition that takes to action is imagination. What we
are experiencing now and being privilege of is just an imagination by the creative people in the past and
some people took actions to turn this imaginary thing to reality, may it be in technology, transportation,
electricity, tall buildings, space exploration and other inventions of people in the past that makes our life
much different than before.
• Imagination is not constrained by the walls of the norm, but goes beyond that.
Imagination has no limit, rules or any containment because imagination varies from simple to complex
depending on how we skillfully use reality and our ideas together to form these out of the box yet
fascinating imaginary things
• Through imagination, one is able to craft something that is imaginary (Collingwood, 1928)
People rely on curiosity and imagination for development, through imagination, everyone has the
capacity to create something new, and something better in the hopes of creating something that will
stimulate change and do good for civilization.
• Something imaginary does not necessarily mean it cannot be called art. Artist use their imagination to
give birth to reality through creation.
- Imaginary things are still an art such as intellectual properties although it is just an idea it can be
called art already because people give labor and determination for their work so even if there is
no object or tangible things that we can see an imagination is still an art.
