A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITY
1. DAILY ROUTINE

Drill:
The teacher will show the basic multiplication facts using flashcards to be answered by the pupils.

2. MOTIVATION
The teacher will show to class some play money in the denominations of Php20, Php50 and
Php100 and then, the pupils will identify it.

Ask: Who among you have their baon in the said denominations. What about the others, how
much is your baon? Do you spend all your money/baon? What traits do you show when you save
some of your money? -

Shane made 80 Sampaguita garlands. Each garland costs ₱15.00. If she sold all the Sampaguita
garlands, how much will she earn for the garlands?

Edna receives a daily allowance of Php20 from her mother. She only spends Php15 and save the rest.

4. INDEPENDENT PRACTICE (YOU DO)


The teacher will divide the class into four groups. Each group will be given a task on problem solving.
Each group will be given 5 minutes to answer the task given to them.

Group I – A fruit vendor has 9 baskets containing 25 pineapples. How many


pineapples do the vendor have? (Answer the problem following
the steps in problem solving)

Group II – Mang Ben harvest 8 sacks of ripe mangoes in his backyard. If


One sack contains 325 mangoes. How mangoes did he harvest
in all? (Answer the problem following the steps in problem solving)

Group III - Mang Ben sold 326 young coconuts at Php12 each. How much did he get in all?
(Answer the problem following the steps in problem solving)

Group IV- It was Maria’s seventh birthday. Her mother bought 15 kilos of chicken. If
each kilo costs Php120, how much did mother spend?

After answering the given task to each group. The group leaders will report the finished tasks of their
respective group in front of the class.
5. APPLICATION
Answer the following problem based on the question after it.

1. A dozen eggs cost Php55. How much is the cost of 123 dozen of eggs? (What is asked?)
2. Mang Ben sold 326 young coconuts at Php12 each. How much did he get in all? (What are
the given facts?)
3. There are 7 sections in Grade IV at Bagbag II Elementary School. If there are 56 pupils in
each section. How many pupils are there in all? (What is the operation to be used?)
4. The supervisor gave a test to 9 grade IV classes. If 32 pupils in each class passed the test.
How many pupils passed the test altogether? (Give the number sentence)
5. Aldrin bought 12 boxes of biscuits. Each box contained 125 pieces of biscuits. How many
biscuits does he have? (What is the answer?)

1. Tom earns Php20.50 a day selling newspaper. How much will he earns in
7 days?

2. There are 15 shelves inside the school library. If each shelves have 115
books. How many books are there in all?
