be the brightest object in the night sky but gives off no light of its own.
Instead, it reflects light from the sun. It has depressions called craters. The
moon's surface is rocky and covered with dust. There is no air on the
moon. It has no life of any kind. Since the moon has less mass than earth,
the force of gravity at the moon's surface is only about one-sixth of that
on the earth. Thus, a person standing on the moon would feel as if his or
weight had decreased by one-sixths. And if that person dropped a rock,
the rock would fall to the surface much more slowly than it would on
earth.
A) What is the natural satellite of the Earth?
B) What are craters?
C) Is there any force of gravity on moon?
D) Give reason; there is no life on moon.
Q25 At many public places, schools and offices you will find red cylinders
mounted on walls. They are fire extinguishers. They use carbon dioxide to
control and extinguish fire. Carbon dioxide being heavier than air forms a
layer on the burning material and cuts the supply of oxygen. This stops fire.
A) How does the formation of a layer on the burning material stop
burning?
B) What are some other ways to extinguish fire?
C) What is Fire extinguisher?
