• If needed, cut the longitudinal rails with a power saw or manually so that afterwards the
two uncut ends are placed together for reassembly, i.e., the sawn edges comprise the
ends of the rails.
Fig. 3:
NOTE If the longitudinal rails (1/Fig. 3 / p. 12) are sawn manually, a right
angle line mark (2/Fig. 3 / p. 12) must be made with a carpenter's
square.
Cut into all four surfaces of the rail approx. 2 to 3 mm deep with
the hand saw so that the saw has a guide when cutting through
the rail.
File off the sawn edges.
• Place an end stop (1/Fig. 4 / p. 13) on each end of the sawn longitudinal rail and secure
it in place so it is flat against the end.

with the 3 Allen screws.
• Drill through the first wall of the profile with a 12 drill bit.
• After loosening the 3 Allen screws, move the drill jig to the second mark (75 mm) as
described above and secure it in place again.
• Drill the second hole in the same way.
• Clean the rail of any drill shavings.
• Slide the coupling (1/Fig. 8 / p. 14) into the longitudinal rail profile as shown in
(Fig. 8 / p. 14) until the tip of the Allen-head set screw (1/Fig. 9 / p. 14) is over the first
drill hole (2/Fig. 8 / p. 14).
Fig. 8: Fig. 9:
T • Tighten the set screw in this position (torque value for M10x25 set screws is 30 Nm).
¹ The coupling will be pressed up.
• Tighten the two other Allen-head set screws (without the tips, (2/Fig. 9 / p. 14)) through
the two drilled 12 mm holes (3/Fig. 8 / p. 14).
• Position the original ends of the two longitudinal rails (1/Fig. 10 / p. 14) as shown in
(Fig. 10 / p. 14); when doing this, pay attention to the position of the profile!
•
Fig. 10:
• Mark the dimensions 75 mm and 140 mm in the same way as for the first rail.
• Drill the holes in the same way as for the first rail.
NOTE Install the rails on the ceiling per the following paragraph. Con-
necting the rails is performed on the ceiling in the same way as
installation of the coupling.
Fig. 11:
NOTE When replacing a MULTIX TOP with an AXIOM Aristos MX, the
MULTIX TOP ceiling rails remain attached to the Unistrut rails and
are used again!
NOTE These Unistrut nuts are not included in the shipment, but must be
provided on site.
They must be hardness rated 8.8.
The M10x35 Allen screws, hardness rated 8.8 (included in the ship-
ment) must be threaded at least 10 mm deep into the Unistrut nuts
(if necessary, use longer Allen screws, hardness rated 8.8).
• Install the two rail holders (1/Fig. 12 / p. 17) loosely at the outside mounting points
using two M10x 40 Allen screws for each (1/Fig. 13 / p. 17).
