Power Point

Personal computing refers to computers that are intended for individual use rather than for time-sharing by multiple users. A personal computer (PC) is a microcomputer that is affordable and portable enough for individual use. Personal computing has significantly impacted society through improved communication and connectivity, greater access to information, economic impacts, and enhancements to education and learning. A computer works by taking in information as input, processing it, storing the information, and producing output results.

A personal computer (PC) is a multi-purpose microcomputer
whose size, capabilities, and price make it feasible for
individual use. Personal computers are intended to be
operated directly by an end user, rather than by a computer
expert or technician. Unlike large, costly minicomputers and
mainframes, time-sharing by many people at the same time
is not used with personal computers. Primarily in the late
1970s and 1980s, the term home computer was also used.
The advent of personal computers and the concurrent
Digital Revolution have significantly affected the lives of
people in all countries.
3 Elements
Hardware:
Hardware refers to the physical components and devices that make up a computer or other electronic
systems. It encompasses all the tangible parts of a computing system that you can see and touch.
Hardware is essential for a computer or electronic device to function and execute tasks.

Software:
data contained on a computer that is formatted and then stored digitally and cannot be touched physically.
Software is also a program that contains instructions for processing data and producing information. Software is
divided into 2, namely operating systems and applications.

Brainware:
people who use or use a PC. This brainware is also called user, netter, gamer, or something else depending on what
benefits a person gets from using a PC.
IMPACT
Perosnal computing has had a profoumd impact
on society and culture over the years,
reshaping various aspects of our lives. Here are
some of the key ways it has influenced society
and culture :

1 Communication and Connectivity

2 Information Access

3 Economic Impact

4 Education and Learning

The way a computer works is to take information (input),
process information (processing), store information (storage),
and spit out results (output). With the following explanation:

1 Taking Information ( Input)

The way a computer works begins with the user taking information
(input), then converting this information into digital data that the
computer can understand, namely the binary language of 1s and 0s.

2 Information Storage (Storage)

After that, the information will be stored as memory by the computer in
RAM (Random Access Memory) or persistent memory. Newly input
memory is usually stored in RAM, because RAM is an active data store.
RAM can store 1 byte of data in just 1 nano second.
3 Information processing (processing): The input data stored in
RAM can then be processed by the CPU as the brain of the
computer. All kinds of commands are input by the CPU with the help
of RAM. This is because the CPU does not have memory, meaning
the CPU does not remember or store anything. So that all data
processed by the CPU is actually taken from RAM.

Storing Information (Storage): After the data has been

processed, only then can the data be stored permanently in
4
persistent memory.
