VI. OBJECTIVES :
The activity aims to achieve the following:
a. Review Status of Annual Implementation Programs and Activities
b. Orient teachers for Mass face-to-face Implementation;
c. Conduct Gender and Development (GAD) Planning;
d. Re-orientation of teachers regarding the DepEd Professional Development Priorities for
Teachers for SY 2020-2023 in accordance to DepEd Memorandum No. 50, series 2020;
e. Conduct School-Based Learning Action Cell (SLAC) sessions on the use of Microsoft teams
for
virtual and Hybrid class management.
f. Orient school personnel regarding Policy Guidelines in the implementation of the
Comprehensive Sexuality Education on GAD pamphlets; and
g. Conduct review and planning for Individual Performance Commitment Review Form (IPCRF)
DAY 1
It was the 1st day of the In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET) held at the COMLAB room.
Before entered in the training room the teachers checked their body temperature and signed on the
attendance sheet. Our Emcee for the day was Mr. Winston M. Patiag. The activity started with the
national anthem conducted by Mrs. Evangeline Ofiaza, followed by the prayer led by Mr. Rico M.
Monsalud. Our School Head, Sir Russel Elgincolin was in-charge on the roll call. It was started at 8:00 in
the morning.
On the first day of INSET, Innovation was the highlight of the day. As the program went on, we
were inspired by Sir Russel Elgincolin with his inspirational talk. Our resource speakers were Sir Russel
Elgincolin, Ms. Kristine Joy Mayo, and Sir Alvin Mandapat. The discussed the DM. no. 372 s. 2022 –
Schools Division Innovation Development Guidelines.
Ms. Kristine Joy Mayo specifically discussed the content of DM. no. 372 s. 2022, the three
categories of innovation, Innovation Proposal Format, and Evaluation process flow. Afterwards, Sir Alvin
Mandapat presented the different kinds and examples of innovations and defined innovation as the
introduction of new ways of doing things, processes, products or ideas. Lastly, the School Principal, Sir
Russel Elgincolin devoted his time imparting his knowledge and enlightened us about “Innovation in
Education”, Innovation framework and Capsule Proposal Writing. All of these learning skills are helpful
for teachers to be more efficient in facilitating their classes.
In the afternoon, the participants were instructed to craft their capsule proposals.
DAY 2
It was the 2nd day of the In-Service Training for the teachers (MPRE) 2023. The program
commenced with a prayer led by Sir Rico Monsalud followed by a short recap of a previous session
stated by Sir Russel Elgincolin.
The second training day was spent with participants continuing to develop and work on their
innovation proposal.
DAY 3
The program started at 8:00 in the morning and it was facilitated by Mr. Rico M. Monsalud. It
was started with a prayer led by Mrs. Madeline M. Elevado followed by singing of National Anthem. An
energizer was followed and given by Mrs. Evangeline S. Ofiaza.
Sir Russel M. Elgincolin expressed his gratitude to the Sta. Cruz South High School teachers in
participating in the 3rd day training. He also gave an overview of the topic for the day.
The participants watched the recorded video about Refueling the Passion For Teaching:
Optimizing Opportunities for Meaningful Change. The speaker emphasized that good teachers find ways
to overcome barriers and act on their passions in support of students and themselves. He said that
every child has his own story, so teachers should have concern and sympathy for children.
Another recorded video that the participants watched was about Teaching Strategies in The
Next Normal. Ms. Mara Angeli Banares, speaker in the said video emphasized the importance of the role
of teachers in planning and delivering effective teaching in the New Normal. She reminded the teachers
that the aim of education is to help students develop essential skills and concepts that will help them
thrive in and contribute to the society. The teachers had their reflection on the said recorded videos on
what are their learnings and shared their ideas on how they were going to apply their learning in their
teaching.
In the afternoon, the teachers were divided into different groups to discuss their individual and
department accomplishments respectively.
DAY 4
Some participants used social media platforms to join in the 4th day of INSET for the teachers.
Sta. Cruz South High School in partnership with DICT Region III together with DICT Zambales provincial
office conducted a training-webinar entitled " Internet and Media Literacy, Data Protection and
Cybersecurity Awareness". This particular training aimed to raise the level of awareness of teachers and
students on the importance of cybersecurity in order for them to be empowered and protect themselves
in cyberspace, educate participants regarding on internet and media literacy and use them in a
responsible way, provide awareness to participants regarding on information disorder and how to
address it properly.
The Resource Speaker, Domingo Chico Jr, discussed the Internal and Media Literacy which
provides information about the different usage of internet tools and information disorder. He defined the
Information disorder syndrome as the sharing or developing of false information with or without the
intention of harming. He also explained the differences between the three types of information using the
dimensions of harm and falseness. According to him, misinformation is when false information is shared,
but no harm is meant, disinformation is when false information is knowingly shared to cause harm and
last, misinformation is when genuine information is shared to cause harm, often by moving information
designed to stay private into the public sphere. Participants were interested in new knowledge.
He also tackled Data Privacy and Protection which focused on the legal basis of Data Protection
and how to handle information and data especially in school level. In addition to this, the resource
speaker provided and in-depth knowledge to the participants about the different cybersecurity threats
when using internet. It will help the participants to identify potential threats which cybercriminals may
impose.
DAY 5
On the last day of the series of INSETs, the day started with a simple opening program. For
the first session, Learning Area Coordinators presented their mid-year accomplishments in their
respective areas. Mrs. Evangeline S. Ofiaza presented their accomplishments in Araling Panlipunan, Mrs.
Alma E. Baja in Mathematics, Karen B. Miraflor in TLE, Mr. Alvin M. Mandapat in MAPEH and EsP, Mrs.
Beanila B. Gallardo in Filipino, Mrs. Rovelyn P. Matol in English, and Mrs. Nelia M. Parungao for Canteen
Report. After a short break, Mr. Alvin M. Mandapat continued the session with his Presentation of
Innovation in Teaching. This will serve as an example and guide for his colleagues in crafting their own
innovations in teaching.
The session resume at 1 pm with the Setting of Goals/Targets for the Remaining School Year
facilitated by our School Head, Mr. Russel M. Elgincolin. After collecting the outputs for the day,
awarding of certificates among the participants of the series of INSETs was then administered by the
School Head also.
As it was the end, teachers are positively hoping for the better and improvement of the
performance of the school and its clientele.
