Equivalent Lateral Force Procedure Example

This document provides calculations for seismic forces on a building according to ASCE 7-16. It determines a Seismic Design Category of D based on the site class and mapped spectral response acceleration parameters. It then calculates the approximate fundamental period of the building, the seismic response coefficient, and the total seismic base shear. Finally, it provides the vertical distribution of seismic forces to each level of the 6-story building.
