PSI INDIA is a non-profit, nongovernmental organization dedicated to improve life for SARITA in India,
particularly the improvement of reproductive and sexual health, improved services for the health of
mothers and children, sustainable sanitation solutions for cities and slums. PSI was incorporated in 1980
under the India Societies Act of 1860 and began implementing full-scale activities in 1988. Over the past
thirty-three years, PSI India has collaborated with the Government of India and a number of donors to
implement various programs towards increasing the use of modern contraception for family planning, to
provide products and services for the health of mothers and children and to decrease the spread of

PSI India with support from BMGF will be implementing the roll out of New contraceptive program
which is in line with the Government of India's strategic priorities. The two new contraceptives, MPA-SC
(Medroxy Progesterone Acetate-Subcutaneous Injectable Contraceptive) and Implant (single rod-
Etonogestrel containing - Implanon NXT), are being introduced in Bihar, which is one among the 10
states selected for this introduction in India. In this implementation phase, the new contraceptives will
be provisioned by UNFPA and BMGF under this government program. In Bihar, PSI (Population Services
International) India will be the technical support, lead and facilitate the controlled launch of these
contraceptives in four districts (two for MPA SC and two for Implants). The program will focus on the
rollout of implants in Patna and Bhagalpur districts, with a focus on medical provider providing the
implants in district level hospitals and introduction of MPA-SC in Munger and Sheikhpura districts across
health-facilities. The overall focus of rolling out of two different contraceptives within two districts each
will be to develop two distinct feasible scalable service delivery models for the state and inform state for
expansion and scale up in the entire state.
POSITION PURPOSE:
An experienced professional who can lead the Communication including IEC/BCC activities in
coordination with NHM and Government of Bihar for implementation roll out of the Newer
Contraceptive program at the state and district level. The position will also ensure that the training
plans and manuals along with the key modules for various level of service providers are developed in
Hindi and Local languages are fine tuned and shared with trainers and participants for understanding
and execution.
• Development and Implementation of IEC /BCC materials for the program in close coordination
with FP Division and IEC division of the NHM at the state level.
• Develop and prepare the training manuals and modules shared by the GOI for the training of the
service providers and CHWs in accordance to the Bihar state and get it approved by the state
leadership of NHM for roll out.
• The IEC/BCC materials which will be used by the service providers and CHWs will be developed
in the local dilect for easy and smooth understanding the community to avail the services.
• Support the Program team and State NHM team to develop the Audio Visual communication
materials for wide spread and usage to create demand aggregation on New Contraceptives
• Develop and prepare Most Significant case studies and stories basis the learnings from the
districts.
• Develop and prepare the reports of the programs which can be shared with the state health
officials and district officials for further sharing
• Develop and prepare the progress reports for donor sharing
• Execute the planned Trainings requisite for service providers and other categories of
participants are conducted successfully and any input or feedback is incorporated for further
updation and execution.
• Support the Sr. Manager – Program Implementation for smooth execution of the program from
the lens of communication strategy
• Any other tasks assigned by the organization and supervisor as and when required is
accomplished.
