DOCUMENT CHECKLIST FOR NRI

LOANS - MERCHANT NAVY

1. Dully filled & signed NRI loan application form.

2. One passport size photograph to be affixed on the application form & to be self attested by
applicant &/ co-applicant.

3. Copy of identify proof of both applicant &/ co-applicant. (Passport*, pan card, driving
license).

4. Copy of residence proof of both address of applicant&/co applicant. (Passport, telephone bill,
electricity bill bank statement).

5. Copy of visa stamped on the passport.( last visit details to be highlighting)

6. Copy of last two employment contracts

7. Website address of the employer and contact details of HR Manager

8. Copy of continuous discharge certificate

9. Copy of last 3 months salary slip/ original salary certificate.

10. Bank Statement of the NRE/NRO account for the last 6 months.( in India)

11. Past occupational history (in case of less than 2 years of work experience or recent change in
employment)

12. Copy of Latest Income tax return (if applicable)

13. Details of any other loan availed from any other bank/financial institutions.(to be mentioned on
the application form)

14. Bank statement showing repayment of the loans availed from any other bank/ financial
institution for the last 6 months / repayment track record from the bank/ financial institution the
loan has been availed from.

15. Processing fee cheque in favour of “HDFC LTD” from NRE/NRO account.

16. Power of attorney details & contact person details to be updated on the application form

17. Incase of property selected copy of property documents are also required. (complete property
address & source of own contribution to be updated on application form)

* Copy of passport is mandatory


• All the documents to be self attested.

• If the documents are in language other than English an English translation of the same attested by the
embassy should be provided.

• In case the applicant &/ coapplicant are not present in India at the time of at the time of first
disbursement then we shall require self attested identity and residence proof of the NRI applicant/ co-
applicant duly verified by one of the following authorities before disbursement :
1. Proof of identity and address duly notorised by the Notary Public (overseas) having in the place of
residence of the prospective NRI customer
2. Proof of identity and address duly attested by the Indian Embassy existing at the place of residence of
the prospective NRI customer.
3. A certificate from the Banker to the NRI customer certify that such a person has complied with the
relevant KYC norms as applicable to the place of business
