COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

1. Apply the concept and principle in genetics. (C3)
2. Display practical skills related to processes and techniques in genetics (P3)
3. Analyse concepts, principles and laws related to genetic conflicts (C4)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course introduced students to the basic process of heredity and variations in higher
organisms as well as microorganisms. Topics covered are microbial genetics, hereditary
material, gene transfer and genetic recombination and Mendelian genetics. The course is
supplemented by lectures, solving genetics problems, discussion with students and laboratory
practical. This will ensure that students have the necessary skills and understand genetics in
general.
