DataCamp learners can access their assignments by going to the "Assignments" section in the left menu or on their learner dashboard when they log in. How To Learn

in DataCamp
Locating assignments_Learn Hub

Learners can find all their assignments by going to the ‘Assignments’ section in the
menu on the left-hand side.

When learners are assigned content, they will receive a notification in DataCamp that
they have a new assignment and they will also receive an email.

Assignments is also prominently displayed in the learner dashboard so that learners


see a list of upcoming assignments as soon as they log in, as well as a reminder email
will be sent to learners two days before the deadline.
Course Overview

- Every course is organized into


chapters, which contain between
8-16 exercises.

- ‘Introduction to Python’ course


consists of 4 parts (Python Basics,
Python Lists, Functions and
Packages, NumPy), followed by 11
videos and 57 Exercises in total.

- Each exercises has an associated


point value called XP. As you
progress through DataCamp’s
exercises, you will collect XP so
that you can measure your
progress.
Exercise types

- When you click on ‘VIEW CHAPTER


DETAILS’, the list of exercises under
the chapter will be displayed.

1) Video Exercise(short video tutorial):


Video exercises include dynamic
slides and visuals and a narrative
script that is recorded. All lessons
begin with a video exercise.

2) Coding Exercise: Coding exercises


are the most common type of
exercises on DataCamp. These
exercises require students to write
and submit code in a single step.

3) Other types of Exercises: Multiple


Choice / Drag and Drop / Iterative /
Sequential / Etc.
What is XP?

- XP is a way of measuring your


engagement within DataCamp. It
calculates automatically based on
courses, exercises, or other content
that you complete.

- For courses, you can Take Hint, which will


subtract some XP, and Show Answer,
which will subtract all XP, but still allow
you to proceed.

- Because DataCamp's content is self-guided,


you DO NOT need a minimum XP to
progress onto the next exercise.

- Though you can complete many exercises


by asking for the solution which prevents
you from earning XP, we recommend
asking for the solution as a last resort
for your own skill development.
