Design Abrihammmmm

The document discusses several architectural concepts including space, structure, circulation, façade, place, site analysis, concept, and urban design. It provides definitions and explanations of these terms. For example, it explains that space can be created through the use of form, circulation refers to the pathways people take through a building, and urban design involves collaboratively designing the physical setting for life in towns and cities.

Design 1 space

Space can only be created through the use of form, which is the mass or grouping of
materials used to give a building its shape.

Architectural designs are created by carving space out of space, creating space out of space,
and designing spaces by dividing this space using various tools, such as geometry, colors,
and shapes

Space in between

According to the book Deviations, space can be created in between spaces in tango
performance by using pivots. Pivots are a consequence of dissociation, which is the
independent movement of body parts according to time and shifting of speed 1.

In tango, space is created through the use of form, which is the mass or grouping of
materials used to give a building its shape. The process of composition is the
organization of the whole out of its parts, the conception of single elements, the
interrelating of these elements, and the relating of them to the total form

Transparency open text

explains that transparency in architecture, which is synonymous with the words intertwined,
overlapping and simultaneous, is handled on forms that provide absolute movement. In
addition, materials in transparency, where light, time and speed are glorified, are not
important. It is not limited to the materials used or the occurrence of actions

Program notation post card

It includez the conceptual frameworks of a project as well as its functional requirements . through
these excersices we clearly saw the close connection between program and space will be
imvestigated

Zoning

Zoning is an essential requirement that must be taken into account for any architectural
process. It is essentially a set of codes that outline the rules for what may be built on a
particular property. Zoning codes limit the size, shape, use, and location of buildings.
Architects perform zoning analyses in order to determine the legal development rights of a
property. Determining which building types and styles will and won’t adhere to legal zoning
prerequisites can be challenging. Different zoning areas can provide certain freedoms and
limits for a given project, depending on what the client and architect have envisioned for
their final result

Circulation
In architecture, circulation refers to the way people move through and around buildings or
urban places. It is the pathways people take through a building or space 12. Circulation can
be vertical (e.g., stairs, elevators) or horizontal (e.g., corridors, lobbies, ramps) 2. The physical
layout and design of circulation elements can impact the way people move throughout a
building 3. Architects often use diagrams to represent circulation

Structure

In architecture, a structural system is the method of assembling and constructing structural

elements of a building so that they support and transmit applied loads safely to the ground
without exceeding the allowable stresses in the members 1. Structural systems can be
classified into several categories, including load-bearing, framed, and shell systems 1. Load-
bearing systems are those in which the walls themselves support the weight of the
building 1. Framed systems use columns and beams to support the weight of the
building 1. Shell systems use a thin, curved surface to support the weight of the
building 1. The choice of structural system can impact the aesthetics of a building, as well as
its cost, durability, and safety 12.

Façade

In architecture, the building envelope or facade is the exterior surface of a building

that separates the interior from the exterior environment 12. It includes the roof, walls,
windows, doors, and other components that enclose the building 2. The building
envelope serves several functions, including providing protection from the elements,
regulating temperature and humidity, and controlling the flow of air and water 12. The
design of the building envelope can impact the energy efficiency, aesthetics, and
durability of a building 123. Architects often use diagrams to represent the building
envelope 4.

Design 2 place

tecture, place refers to the quality of people’s relationships with a physical setting, individual
and group activities, and meanings 1. The concept of sense of place is used to study human-
place bonding, attachment, and place meaning 1. Sense of place is usually defined as an
overarching impression encompassing the general ways in which people feel about places,
senses it, and assign concepts and values to it 1. Sense of place is highlighted in architectural
research as one of the prevailing concepts among place-based researches 1. Considering
dimensions of sense of place has always been beneficial for investigating public place
attachment and pro-environmental attitudes towards these places 1. The creation or
preservation of sense of place is important in maintaining the quality of the environment as
1
well as the integrity of human life within it
Urban site analysis

site analysis is a pre-design step that involves examining a site’s climatic,

geographical, historical, legal, and infrastructural contexts 1. Site analysis is a critical
part of the planning and design process, as no development takes place in isolation -
it will be influenced by the conditions of the site and will have an impact on its
context 1. Good site and context analysis form the foundation of good design 1. The
following are some of the key topics to be considered in the analysis process:

1. Site location details (road names, address, major landmarks, etc.)

2. Neighbourhood context
3. Site-specific details such as site boundary and dimensions, easements, buildable
area, building height restrictions, and access to the site
4. Natural features such as topography, vegetation, site levels, and soil types
5. Man-made features such as previous use of the site, existing buildings, and
circulation
6. Observations to make on the site

Site analysis is usually organized under four categories: site observations, site
analysis, site synthesis, and site evaluation 1. The design of a site can impact the
aesthetics, energy efficiency, and safety of a building 12. Architects often use
diagrams to represent site analysis 13.

Cocept in architecture

a concept is an idea or notion that forms the backbone and foundation of a design
project. It can be influenced by various factors, such as the intended use, site, culture,
and preferences of the clients or users 1. The concept is the underlying idea
conceived as the first step in the design process 2.
Architectural concepts can be abstract and intangible, but they are the main essence
behind all decision-making 2. Being able to consistently create and develop
architectural concept ideas is something that many architects struggle
with 3. However, there are many methods of coming up with a concept, and by
following the processes described in the articles provided in the search results, they
can be derived from almost anything: personal experiences and influences, emotions,
perceptions, research, analysis, and more 3.

In architecture, a concept can be used as a guiding force for the design process 1. It
can help architects make decisions about the functionality, aesthetics, sustainability,
and user experience of a building 2. A strong concept can provide a methodology for
the thinking process when there are questions to be answered or decisions to be
made 1.

can be used as starting points for your conceptual development and help steer you
in the right direction as your project develops 3.

Urban design (proposal)

Urban design is the process of designing towns and cities, streets and spaces. It involves the
collaborative and multi-disciplinary process of shaping the physical setting for life - the art of
making places 1. Urban design defines the nature of buildings and the spaces between them,
and how the design itself should be worked out: design processes and outcomes. Urban
design inspires, illustrates and defines how a place could be improved or protected to bring
benefits to investors, developers and wider society 1. Urban designers are typically architects,
town planners or landscape architects. Their skill is to bring together ideas from developers,
local communities, architects, planners, traffic engineers, landscape architects, transport
planners and many others, to resolve problems and conflicts in order to create better places
for everyone 1. Urban design can help in drawing up masterplans and design guidance for
large areas, through to working up detailed designs for a local street or public space. It is
about designing for people at the human scale, to make life better, and to make more
1
attractive places that will remain valuable over time
