VI. Concept Notes:


A single slide is an individual page made on a PowerPoint presentation. As
the user create a presentation, several slides are also produced to be presented in
overhead transparencies or 35mm slide presentations.

Adding Slides
Each presentation consists of slides that has the same topic. In every title
slide, users usually add new slides to specify, users usually add new slides to
specify some information to support their topic presentation.

To add a new slide:


1. Click the dropdown arrow from the New Slide
button in the Home ribbon.
2. Choose the type of layout of the new slide.

Another option in adding New Slide:


1. Right-click on the last slide.
2. From the menu, choose New Slide.
3. You may also use Duplicate Slide so that you
won’t need to copy the format of the previous
slides.

Moving Slides
In creating presentations, re-organizing and keeping in order of the slides are
the critical part of the development. However, these slides are going to be presented
in a sequential manner. Moving slides Using Slide Sorter:
1. Hover the mouse on the Status bar.
2. Click the Slide Sorter button.
3. Click and drag the selected slide to move it to its new
position. After moving the slide, release the mouse
button.
Deleting Slides
The user mostly makes a review of the topics and cannot avoid deleting slides
that are not needed while in the process of creating.

Slide Sorter View
1. Click on the slide to be removed.
2. Press Delete or Backspace from the keyboard
Normal View
1. Go to the left pane that contains the slides.
2. Right click on the slide that needs to be removed.
3. Select Delete Slide.

Hiding and Showing Slides


Hiding a slide is useful when a user wants to add a slide that contains
additional important topics to a presentation. It may or may not be presented with
different types of audiences. Hidden slides will not appear during actual presentation,
but the user may still be able to read or edit them.
1. From the status bar, click on the Slide Sorter
button
2. Select the slide to be hidden
3. Right-click and choose Hide Slide button from the
menu
4. Press F5 to start the slide show and see if the slide
was hidden in the play mode
5. To unhide the slide, repeat the instructions and
choose Hide Slide again.

Adding Slide Notes


PowerPoint enables the user to add slide notes also known as speaker notes,
and use them during an oral presentation. Slide notes remind the users about the
important information they want to discuss with the audience. The user must type the
information about the current presentation slide in the Slide Notes and use the notes
during oral presentations.

2. Click View tab and choose
Notes Page view
3. Click the “Click to add text”
section of the screen.
4. Type the information that gives
reminders while doing the presentation.

Slide Design
Slide Designs comprise of different design templates and variants of color
built-in for the user to customize. In the PowerPoint ribbon’s Design Tab, the user
can preview and apply a design template in a presentation. These templates can be
used to apply to all or selected slide. The user can also apply different design
templates in a single presentation.
Themes are design templates that can be applied to an entire presentation
that allows the consistency throughout the presentation. This tool is also used to
enhance presentation slides and in so doing make the presentation comply and
match with the topic.

To add theme to a presentation, follow these steps:


1. Click the Design tab.
2. Choose one of the displayed theme.

Applying New Colors to a Theme


To apply new colors to a theme:
1. On the Design Tab, click on the Variants
dropdown arrow.
2. Click on Colors.
3. Choose a color set.

Changing the Background Style
1. Click on the variants dropdown arrow.
2. Choose Background Styles.
3. Click the chosen style from the menu.
