It had a big purple flower and a strange-looking stem.
“Oh well,” thought Max. He reread his favorite
book about the jungle, thought about going there someday,
and went to sleep.
He woke up in the middle of the night—and couldn’t
believe his eyes! There were vines hanging over his bed!
There were big purple flowers everywhere! They all
reminded him of his new plant. . . .
