Goal: The goal of this visit is to give the student an opportunity to observe the preschool child within the preschool
learning environment. Observations should focus on the development areas through the activities.
Directions: Choose one child to observe and record the child’s activities about every five minutes for thirty
minutes to an hour. Make sure part of the observation is during playground time.

Description of the preschool environment:

Child: Describe some of the physical characteristics (not any identifying factors). For example: “The child is small
for their age,” etc.
