The following Instructions refer to installations using the DAS-1702 series boards only.

Installing DAS Drivers on a Windows NT4.0 Workstation:

Warning, It is recommended that you install Service Pack 2 (or Later) for Windows NT 4.0. This application may
not work properly without it.

1) Install WCG6\KMB1700\Setup.exe from the CD. This installation requests a serial

number. Use 41776131.

If there is a patch installation utility in the KMB1700 folder, install this next. This will bring the DriverLINX
drivers to the latest version.

(The patch install programs will usually have a file name such as DAS1700-
850A01.0.0.2.EXE and it will display a ‘Red Box’ Icon in Windows Explorer).

2) Run DriverLINX Configuration from Control Panel.

3) Click on the “Create…” command button to create a New DriverLINX Data acquisition
Device. You will be prompted to Select a Logical Device Number.
a) If Using the DAS1702ST, Assign Logical device 0 (Zero).
b) If Using the DAS1702ST-DA, Assign Logical device 1 (One).
4) On the Device Tab of the Configuration screen, Choose the Model of the Data acquisition
card to me used. I.E. DAS-1702ST or DAS-1702ST-DA.
5) For a DAS-1702ST, set the I/O address to 380. For a DAS-1702ST-DA, set the I/O
address to 390 Hex.
6) Click on the Analog Input TAB. Set the Channels to “8 Differential”, the IRQ to 5, and the
DMA channel to 5.
7) Accept all the setting by clicking on OK, and then click Close.

9) After Restart, Run the DriverLINX Configuration Panel again, and confirm that the New
Device is working. A working Device will be indicated by a GREEN light next to the Device
Number installed. If the light is RED or Not Lighted, then a Resource conflict is probably
the cause. Try a different IQR or DMA Level. Alternatively, You may run the “Windows NT
Diagnostics” utility from Start, Programs, Administrative Tools (Common). View the
“Resources” Tab for existing IRQ, I/O Port, and DMA Levels already in use.

Proceed to the section on installing compuGRAPH Version 6.

Installing DAS Drivers on a Windows 95/98 Workstation:

19)If you are upgrading compuGRAPH, the new version will pick-up all of the custom
settings from the prior version. Calibration should be close, but it is recommended that
calibration be performed.
a) You must perform a Conversion operation on the version 5 database. Without performing this
conversion step, compuGRAPH Version 6 may not function properly.

database. It is suggested that a backup copy of the database files be made before the conversion
steps below.
c) Running the Database Utility from the “File” pull-down menu performs the conversion
operation. Choose “Both Repair and Compact” or “Compact” from the “Compact/Repair” Pull-
Down Menu on the database Utility. The conversion process may take only a few minutes to
several hours depending on the content and size of the original database. When finished, You
can expect to see, typically, a 50% reduction in the size of the database structure. Additionally,
