their tongues and they do not have feet. They don’t have ears, but can hear
through their jaw. A number of snakes have venom that can kill their prey. They
are carnivorous. They eat fish, chicken, birds, mouse, bat and other animals.

B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
1. Presentation
Now, let us focus on the Elements of the story, so there are 4 main elements
of the story the characters, setting, plot and conflict.
CHARACTERS- these are the animals, people or creatures in a story. The one
who act the role in the story. There are two types of characters; the
protagonist is the good guy and the antagonist is the bad guy.
In this text, where does the story happens? (On a river) Yes, your right, the
story happens on the river and that is called the Setting. Next !
One day, the monkey visited the turtle and they talked about
their banana plants. “Alas! My banana tree is dead!” wailed
the monkey tearfully. “And yours?” “Alive, and bearing
fruit! But because I can’t climb up...” “Don’t worry!”
interrupted the monkey. “I’ll climb up for you.” The turtle
became very happy and accompanied the monkey to the place
where the banana tree was. The monkey climbed the tree at once
and started eating, filling both cheeks.
And now, this paragraph is so called the Plot because there are series of
events happen in this period.
“Give me some, too,” begged the turtle. “Krrr! Not even the
peels!” answered the monkey.
And this is the problem in the story or so called the conflict because the
monkey here didn’t want to give or share some banana’s to the turtle even
the turtle was the one who planted the banana.
Did you now understand how to look and find the elements of the story? (yes
teacher) Very good children, now we will do some activity.

One bright day in late autumn a family of Ants were bustling about in the
warm sunshine, drying out the grain they had stored during summer. Then, the
starving grasshopper came up and humbly begged for a bite to eat. “What!” cried
the ants in surprise, “haven’t you stored anything away for the winter? What were
you doing all last summer?” “I didn’t have time to store up any food,” whined the
Grasshopper; “I was so busy making music that before I knew it the summer was
gone.” Making music, were you?” said the ant. “Very well, now dance!” and the
