The adolescent is oftentimes baffled as to whether he/she should cut down on food intake in order to
lose weight and look good or eat everything served to him/her to avail of the necessary nutrients his/her
growing body needs. However, the adolescent is often in a rush because of too many school activities.
Therefore, less time is allotted for eating. Plan a whole-day menu for an adolescent. Take into account
his/her needs and, at the same time, the importance of maintaining his/her DBW.
MEAL MENU PATTERN SAMPLE MENU
BREAKFAST Hot/Cold Beverage Herbal tea or black coffee
(without added sugar)
Meat/Fish/Poultry Grilled chicken or turkey sausage
Egg Scrambled eggs with spinach
Rice/Bread/Cereal Whole grain toast or oatmeal
Fruit/Dessert Fresh berries or a small serving
