    Wash/Etch Primer

    Description
    Diamond 2-Pack Wash/Etch Primer is Polyvinyl Butyral resin blended with anti-corrosive zinc
    chromate pigment and acidic etching agent which make it as pre-treatment type primer. It is
    designed to etch and passivate ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It provides a resistant wearing
    base coat for single and two pack coating systems. Diamond 2-pack Wash/Etch Primer offers
    excellent adhesion and barrier properties under high build epoxy coatings i.e Diaoxy Hi-Build
    coatings and Dia Acryl 2K PU Enamels to extend their life and performance.

    Use
    It is designed for aluminum, galvanized steel and light alloys for good adhesion of subsequent
    paint coatings when applied in a thin coat. Suitable on steel for marine coatings when sand
    blasting is not possible.

    Surface Preparation
    All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from contamination.

    Substrate Recommended

    Aluminium or Degreasing, light abrading or sand sweeping.


    Galvanized surface Degrease the surface with epoxy thinner/Cleaning thinner.

    Optimum performance, including adhesion, corrosion protection and chemical resistance is


    achieved with recommended surface preparation.

    Application Method
    The product can be applied by

    Spray Conventional Spray


    Recommended for stripe coating and small areas. Care must be

    taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.

    Storage and Handling

     The product must be stored in accordance with national regulations.


     The product should be kept in a well-ventilated place, protected from heat, direct
    sunlight and spark sources.
     The containers must be kept tightly closed.
     Stir well before use.
     Never breathe the dust, mist gas and vapours from the container.
     Do not apply during mist/fog/rain/wind or when the temperature is below 10°C or above
    40°C.

     Ensure proper ventilation during the application and drying of paint.
     Avoid inhalation of paint mist and vapours and skin contact.
     Spillage of paint on skin should immediately be removed with suitable cleanser soap and
    water.
     Eyes should be well flushed with water and immediate medical attention should be
    sought.
