Background History

For 60 years, the Republic Biscuit Corporation (REBISCO), a recognized


pioneer in the Biscuit industry, has positioned itself to be one of the
dominant players in the Philippine snack food industry with a growing
global presence.

The humble ventures of REBISCO began in a neighborhood bakeshop in old


San Juan, Metro Manila in 1963. Starting out as England Biscuit Factory, the
bakeshop was backed up by an English-type rotary oven which was
considered top-of-the- line then. The production of flagship brands Crema (the
first cream sandwich) and Sodatine (plain crackers) marked England Biscuit
Factory's entry into the market. The company grew steadily and moved to
Novaliches, Quezon City to operate in a more spacious factory. In 1972, it
acquired a new image and name, becoming the REBISCO that we know today.

With its extensive distribution network, market research, technology and


product development, and most importantly, its pledge to contribute to
building the Filipino nation through its various corporate social responsibility
programs, REBISCO has significantly grown and continues to strengthen its
position in the market.

From a basic portfolio of biscuits such as the famous and pioneering Rebisco
Cracker Sandwiches that generations of Filipinos have loved, REBISCO now
carries a wide variety of snack food ranging from nuts and seeds, cakes,
wafers, breads, chips and curls, candies and gums, and chocolates.

To be a well-loved food company, built on family values, that provides


delightful meals for everyone, while leaving a positive impact on our
community.

To achieve this, we shall:


 Explore and enter new markets to build and intensify our business

 Innovate our products and services to meet the dynamic

II. Corporate Social Responsibility

In line with Republic Biscuit Corporation's mission, vision and core values,
the company conducts business with utmost social responsibility. The company
supports projects that will helpimprove the lives of its customers, employees,
stakeholders and communities to which it belong. The social
responsibility programs of Rebisco is to continue evolving and remain
responsive to the needs of our communities.Rebisco corporation build a
foundation called the “The Rebisco Foundation” where it is the main factor
behind the growth of the Republic Biscuit Corporation(rebisco) is the nonstop
support in our community over the years. Rebisco provides this foundation to
give awareness and encourage the community were people suffering poverty as
they give quality of job.

III. Corporate Governance

With its extensive distribution network, market research, technology and


product development, and most importantly, its pledge to contribute to building
the Filipino nation. REBISCO has significantly grown and continued to

IV. Management Lessons Learned

After conducting its study, CIA Bootleg Manila moved on to the planning stage.
The strategy and design teams at CIA Bootleg Manila found significant Rebisco
opportunities and came up with a number of brand, product, service, and
marketing innovation concepts. Also, CIA Bootleg led training on creativity and
ideation for the marketing and business development staff of Rebisco. On the
basis of the study discoveries, the workshop participants were guided through a
variety of ideation processes to produce ideas and concepts. Around fifty new
innovation concepts, including new brands, new products, and fresh marketing
ideas, were generated for Rebisco during the planning process.

The heads and managers of Rebisco's marketing and business development


teams were then guided by CIA Bootleg Manila through an incubation process to
appropriately evaluate, screen, and rank the various concepts.
