Project Title

1. The document is from the Defence University College of Engineering in Bishoftu, Ethiopia and describes two electrical engineering projects related to power control and a water flow meter. 2. The first project involves designing an automatic power supply control system that selects power from four different sources (solar, main power, generator, and inverter) to ensure uninterrupted power supply to loads. It uses relays and a PLC for automatic control and switching between sources. 3. The second project involves developing a GSM-based water flow meter for homes that can remotely measure water usage and send that data via SMS to reduce the need for manual meter readings. It uses a flow sensor to measure water flow

1) Automatic power supply control system from four different
sources (solar, main, generator and invertor) to ensure no break
power

Abstract:

The automatic power supply control system from four different sources (solar,
main, generator and invertor) is designed to ensure UPS (uninterrupted power
supply) to a load automatically selecting the power source from any available
source. The system typically involves the use of relays and plc for automatic
selection and control of power source. It is intended to address the increasing
demand for electricity and frequent power cuts in various settings such as
hospital, offices and houses. The systems status indicating which source is
supplying the load, is often indicated by light indicator. By automatically switching
between the available power source, the system aims to prevent power
interruptions and the need for manual interventions in the event of power source
failure. The use of plc in the system is to facilitate the automatic selection and
control of power source.
2) GSM based water flow meter for home

Abstract:

Water management has become one of the most controversial issues in the world
due to limitations in natural resources. Measuring water consumption has been
considered a serious matter in order to control and manage the resources of
water and revenue as well. And that is not the only issue in order to see how
much water is consumed by individual an agent from water resource
management has to go home to home of each and everyone to see how much
mater cube of water has been consumed by that specified house from the water
gauge (meter), so to reduce this effort and energy spent by this process we have
come by this project. Which is advantageous because A GSM-based water flow
meter for home is a system that can calculate the exact water usage of specific
houses and transfer the data via a GSM module. The system includes a water flow
sensor, GSM module, embedded system implementation of wireless water meter
system. The functionality of the system is to measure the flow rate of water
through pipe, which is calculated by the flow sensor connected along the pipe.
the system is capable of detecting water theft or water leakage in the
underground and send a message to alert the owner.
