Lesson Plan in Science 3

I. Objective: Describe the movement of an objects as fast or slow.


Value: Practicing safety and precautions on the road

II. Content and Materials:


A. Subject Matter: Describing the movement of an objects as fast or slow.
B. References: MELC
C. Materials: pictures, real objects, flash cards, laptop, tarpapel
D. Process Skills: Describing, Observing
E. Concept: Speed is the term used when one is determining whether an object is
fast or slow. An object which takes longer time to cover a certain distance is
called slow whereas another object which takes shorter time to cover the same
distance is called fast.

III. Procedure:
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill: Read the following words
fast, slow, speed, movement, object
2. Review: What is a magnet?
What are the two poles of magnet?
What was our lesson yesterday?

B. Developmental Activities:
ENGAGEMENT
1. Motivation: Can you think of any examples of objects moving fast or slow in
your daily life? Can you give me one?
2. Unlocking of Difficulties:
Movements- process of moving people or things from one place to
another.
Speed- is how fast an object is moving
Fast- moving quickly
Slow- moving slowly
3. Presentation: Take a look at these pictures.
Guide Questions:
1. What can you say about these pictures?
2. What have you observed about the movements in the pictures?
3. Are the objects in the picture moving?
4. What questions can we create or formulate by looking at these pictures?
5. What did we do with the pictures?

Group I- (Drawing)
Draw an object that moves fast or slowly and is found in your
surroundings.
Guide Question:
1. From the objects you draw, how will you describe the movement as
fast or slow?
Group II- Sorting Activity
The learners will sort out a variety of objects that move fast and slow.
Guide Questions:
1. How did you sort out the objects?
2. Describe the movements of the objects as fast and slow.
Group III- Active Learning
Search from the google with the use of laptop 2 pictures of a fast object
and 2 pictures of an object that moves slowly. Show it to the class.
Guide Questions:
1. What are the pictures of an object you searched for that moves fast
or slowly?
2. Describe why that object belongs to a fast or slow movement.

One morning, Maria was woken up by the noise outside her house. Her mother
said that an accident happened on the road. A boy was struck by a fast-moving car; he
did not pay attention to the traffic lights. Fortunately, the boy was safe. The next day,
to avoid accidents, Maria observes proper safety and precautions while crossing the
road. She pays attention to fast and slow-moving vehicles.

Guide Questions:
1. Why was Maria suddenly woken up?
2. Who was struck by a fast-moving car?
3. Why was the boy struck by a fast-moving car?
4. Did Maria safely cross the road? Why?
