Elections
The meeting started by a word of prayer from Janet Sadi at 1157hrs and afterwards the acting
chairperson welcomed all the members to the meeting. The host welcomed and appreciated
members for inaugural attendance.
Every member introduced him/herself stating the designation and the Sub-county being
represented.
Min 02/01/23: Welfare Overview
The Acting County chairperson gave a brief summary on the journey of actualizing the dream of
having Kilifi county instructors both under public service and board of governors join hands in
issue based representation.
The chairperson detailed the focus of the welfare that includes valediction package of
members, sickness of members, and employment of BOG instructors and promotion of public
service instructors.
The members agreed on critical areas that the welfare should look into including;
Registration of members
After considering the proposals from the three sub counties represented the members agreed
that any instructor who wish to join the welfare must register with a non-refundable fee of KES
200 with the initial registration period running up to 30th September 2023 after which all
registered members will convene a general meeting tentatively on 10th October 2023.
The present members appointed an interim treasurer Md. Janet Sadi Principal Gaze VTC
[0724215438] who will handle the registration fee until the general meeting is held when
elections will be conducted.
Monthly contributions
To boost the welfare kitty the members agreed to have a monthly contributions of KES 100
commencing in October 2023 when the elected officials will have opened a bank account to
hold the funds.
The present members suggested opening the account at Co-operative bank jointly by elected
officials [Chairperson, Secretary General and Treasurer] after elections until the welfare is
formally registered.
Benevolent fund
From the proposals submitted from the represented Sub-counties the members adopted to
consider deaths and sickness matters as stipulated
Final sendoff
In terms of death the members proposed the welfare to consider the following categories with
the corresponding lump sum pay;

The members agreed that incase a death occurs within a period the welfare cannot afford to
offset the pay all registered members will make contributions to raise the specified amount.
Sickness
All members were encouraged to ensure that they are registered with National Health
Insurance Fund [NHIF] and for the BOG staff the principals were urged to advise their boards on
ensuring all staffs are under the NHIF fund so as to reduce the burden of medical bills. However,
the welfare will give a consolation stipend of KES 10,000 to a contributing member who will be
hospitalized [inpatient] for a period exceeding 14days.
All registered members will sign a consent form indicating the beneficiaries of the final
sendoff fee
The registration fee is non-refundable
A member will only benefit from the welfare if his/her contributions are up to date
Deadline for submission of the monthly contribution to be on 10th of every month
A member is free to continue contributing even when he/she seizes to be an instructor
In-laws, step children and siblings will not be catered for by the scheme
Min 05/01/23: Elections
The present members agreed that the election should be held after registration so as to allow
the bona fide members elect their official. The members suggested the elections be held during
the first general meeting of all registered members. But to allow for planning and transition an
interim leaders were selected as follows;
The vacant interim positions to be filled by 19th July 2023 by the respective Sub-counties
