1. Drill

Now, let us have a game. This game is


called “Cabbage Game”. The mechanics
of this game is simple. When the music
starts you need to pass the cabbage to
your classmates, when the music stops
you need to stop passing the cabbage.
Whoever holds the cabbage when the
music stops, he/she needs get a cabbage
leaf and he/she must answer the questions
inside the leaf, then continue passing the
cabbage when the music restarts until no
leaf is left.

Adjectives”
Now, I want you all to listen attentively
and carefully because at the end of the
lesson , I am expecting that you all will be
able to identify the adjectives being used,
describe the nouns using adjective, and
arrange the adjectives correctly in order.

E. Discussion
Let us read the sentences.

1. She has twenty five smart pupils in


grade IV.
2. They gather five kilograms of fresh,
red tomatoes from their vegetable
garden every Friday.
3. I have five, long, yellow pencils in
my bag.

Adjectives tells about the number, kind,


and color of a person, animal or thing.
(students give varied answers)
Now, from the sentence you read, what
have you noticed?

There are adjectives.


How many adjectives are present? (possible answer)
There are one or more than one
adjectives.

Very good!
In writing a sentence, there is no limit in
using an adjectives. However, adjectives cannot
be put in any order. It should be put in correct
order.
There is a proper way of putting them in a
sentence.
Its order shall be put as follows: number, kind or
quality, and color.

What is number?
Number can be cardinal, ordinal or numerical.
Cardinal numbers are number words.
Example: one, two, three, four and five.

Numerical numbers are numbers in digits.


Example: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

Ordinal numbers are numbers that show position


or order.
Example; first, second, third, fourth, and fifth.

Quantitative
Example: Some, few, enough

What is kind or quality?


Kind or quality is the characteristics or physical
appearance of the noun being describe.
Example: beautiful, small, new, hard

What is color?
Example: red, yellow, blue

Directions: Pick out the adjectives being used in
the sentence by underlining it.

Activity 2: Let’s Learn Together!

I will divide you in to two groups. This


row is group 1 and this row is group 2. The leader
of this group is Priescel Mae while this row is
Jayden. Assign someone for your secretary who
will write the activity, a time keeper who will
watch the time, a reporter who will report the task
in front, a material manager who will get the
needed materials in front, and the rest of the
members will cooperate.

This will be the rubrics for your group activity:

Now, I want you to form circles with your


groupmates silently.
Group 1: Make the sentence correct by arranging
the series of adjectives in its correct order.

1. Ana has (red two new) pair of shoes.


2. The flower shop have (few red fragrant)
roses.
3. Mother bought (green some) apples.
4. The (big black) bug
5. The lion ate (juicy three) steaks.

Group 2: Identify the adjectives used in the


sentences and identify what kind of adjective it is.
If it is a number, encircle the adjectives. If it is a
kind or quality, box the adjectives. If it is a color,
underline the adjectives.

1. My father bought a new blue car.


2. Mrs. Santos has five cute blue-eyed
puppies.
3. Saning has a long silky black hair.
4. I have a five new black ballpens inside
my pencil case.
5. They have a lovely old red post-box.

Directions: Arrange the series of adjectives in the
correct order. Use each set in a sentence
