Statement of the Problem

This study aimed to determine the level of readiness and academic


performance of kindergarten learners in grade 1 classes in Public Elementary
Schools of Sibalom, Antique in School year 2023-2024.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following question.

1. What pre-kindergarten skills must kindergarten learners develop to be


academically ready for grade 1 classes?

2. How do the readiness and performance of Kindergarten learners in Grade 1


classes affect their academic performance?

3. What factors influence academic performance in grade 1?
