Approval Process 2024-25

Guidelines for Existing Institutes Offering or intends to offer


UG Courses in Management (BBA/BMS) & Computer Application
(BCA) under AICTE Regulations
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as per the Provisions of All India Council for
Technical Education Act, 1987 (For short, “AICTE Act”) as mentioned in its Chapter 2-g Shall Regulate
Under Graduate courses in management (BBA/BMS) and computer application (BCA) along with
Post Graduate Courses in Management (MBA/MMS) and Computer Applications (MCA) from the
A/Y 2024-25. Accordingly, all the Existing Institutes Offering or Intends to Offer UG Courses in
Management (BBA/BMS) and Computer applications (BCA) are required to take AICTE Approval
from this A/Y 2024-25.

In this context All the Existing Non-Technical Institutions already running Under Graduate courses
in Management (BBA/ BMS) and Computer Applications (BCA) without approval of AICTE, and
Existing /New Institutes Intends to Offer UG Courses in Management (BBA/BMS) & Computer
applications (BCA) and corresponding Post Graduate courses (MCA/ MBA etc.) in Management and
Computer Applications are required to follow the Guidelines Mentioned Below for obtaining AICTE
Approval:

1. AICTE Approval for the first time shall be granted On ‘as is where is Basis’ for all the Programs
/Courses (BBA/BCA/BMS) to the Existing Colleges which are Offering Courses /Programs
in Management (BBA/BMS) and Computer applications (BCA). However, after thorough
process of consultation separate quality norms will be evolved for BCA/BBA/BMS courses.

2. Existing /New Institutions shall submit an online application on AICTE web portal through NSWS
(National Single Window System) @ https://www.nsws.gov.in as a New Institution for all their
existing/new Programme(s) / Course(s) in management (BBA/BMS) and computer applications
(BCA) (including Post Graduate courses (MCA/ MBA etc.)), If any.

3. An unique USER ID with password shall be allotted to each new application on payment of Rs.
6000 (Rupees Six Thousand only), through the payment gateway on AICTE Web-Portal @ www.
aicte-india.org.

4. Technical Education Regulatory (TER) Charges as mentioned in Approval Process


Handbook 2024-27 Chapter-I (Table-1.1, Page no. 3) are NOT Applicable for Existing
Institutes Offering UG Courses in management (BBA/BMS) & computer applications (BCA).
However, TER Charges per division as mentioned in Chapter-II (Table 2.1, Page no.13)
are ONLY applicable for obtaining AICTE Approval. Refer the example mentioned
below to know more about how the TER charges are applicable for AICTE Approval.

& Rs.5K (Government Institutions) on prorate basis for every batch of 60 seats.
**Including Government Aided and Minority Institutions

5. Exclusive /Separate Building and Director/Principal are NOT required for offering such
Programs /Courses.

6. There is NO change required in the Academic Arrangements and Examination System.

7. There is NO Change required in the University Affiliation and other related Procedure.

8. Affiliation with General Universities (State Public Universities) / with Multiple Universities
for UG and PG Courses/Programs is permitted.

9. No change required in the Procedure for obtaining Autonomous Status and Accreditation
Status. Autonomous institutions are free to start new courses as per the provisions of grant of
Autonomous status.

10. Once the Institute offering BCA/BBA/BMS Programmes/Courses gets AICTE


Approval, they can apply for Starting other AICTE Programmes/Courses in Engineering
and Technology, Planning, Applied Arts & Crafts, Design, Hotel Management &
Catering Technology.

11. AICTE Policy of permitting Multiple Programs to be Offered in the same campus under one
administrative arrangement will enable the Institutes to use the facilities very effectively.
(Effective Utilization of Facilities).

12. There is NO Need for Security Deposit (Refundable) as mentioned in Chapter-I (Table1.4)
for all existing Institutes which are in existence for More than FIVE years. However, other
institutes (less than Five years old (from year of inception)) need to Keep Security Deposit
(Refundable) with AICTE as mentioned in Table 1.4 (Chapter-I) for a Fixed Period.

Advantages for the Institutes Offering or intend to offer BCA/BBA/BMS Programmes/Courses


by Obtaining AICTE Approval.

1. Institutes will become eligible to avail all the Benefits / Financial Support under different Schemes
of AICTE /MoE.

2. Institutes will become eligible to get benefits out of all MoUs. AICTE has signed with Leading
Industries (Including Internationally Reputed Companies).

3. Faculty will get benefits out of Faculty Development Programs (through ATAL, other FDP
Schemes).

4. Faculty will become eligible to avail the benefits of Research Promotion Scheme (RPS), Funding
for conduct of Conference, etc.

5. Faculty will become eligible to avail the benefits of Higher Studies.

6. Students will become eligible to avail scholarship offered by AICTE (e.g. PRAGATHI, SAKSHAM,
etc.).

7. Students will get benefits available through AICTE NEAT Scheme.

8. Students will become eligible to avail the benefits of Internship Scheme (through Internship
Portal).

9. Students will become eligible to avail the benefits of Placement (Through AICTE Placement Portal.
Especially for Rural and Areas).

10. Students will become eligible to participate in National and International level competition
organized by AICTE.

11. National Level Recognization for the Institutes through NIRF Ranking.
