SPOOKY GHOST
experiment
MATERIALS
White Balloon
Black Permanent Marker
Empty Water Bottle
1 TBS of Baking Soda
½ Cup of Vinegar
PROCEDURE
Draw a ghost face on the white balloon.

Fill the deflated balloon with one tablespoon of baking soda.

Pour a ½ cup of vinegar into the empty water bottle.

Place the open end of the balloon around the top of the bottle.

Hold the balloon upright, so that the baking soda falls into the vinegar.

Watch the “ghost” expand!

FLYING GHOST

You assume all risks when completing this experiment.
PROCEDURE
Blow up the balloon. Pinch the end closed with a binder clip.

Draw a ghost face on the white balloon.

Secure the balloon to the straw using tape. Slide the string through the straw.

Tie each end of the string to a chair. Move the chairs apart so that the string is pulled taut.

Slide the balloon to one end of the string.

Then, unpinch the end. Watch the “ghost” fly through the air!
