Lesson 1 - Learning Styles Inventory

The document describes a learning styles inventory questionnaire with 24 questions. Participants indicate how often each statement applies to them, earning points for 3 different learning styles: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. After completing the survey, participants add up their points for each style. Their highest score indicates their preferred learning style. The results suggest each person favors one style, but can learn in different ways depending on the situation. No one uses just one style all the time.

Lesson 1_Learning styles inventory

You will be presented with a 24-question questionnaire, where you must determine whether you “never”, “seldom”,
“sometimes”, “often”, or “always” do a task.

Each answer awards a certain number of points to one of three learning styles, indicated at the end of each question,
and will be presented with feedback related to which learning style category you fall into.

The Scoring:
Based on your answer of “never”, “seldom”, “sometimes”, “often”, or “always”, you will give the learning style
associated with that question a specific score from 1 to 5.

Always = 5 Points Often = 4 Points

Sometimes = 3 Points

Seldom = 2 Points Never = 1 point

Keep track of the point tally for each learning style and add up your totals at the end.

Now that you have finished the survey, add up the total number of points for each learning style and check
out your scores.
Visual=______ points
Auditory=______points
Knesthetic=______points
Your highest score indicates a preference to that specific learning category.
Your results likely suggest that you favour one of the three categories; each of us tends to have a preferred
learning style. But the results may also show that you do not always learn things in the same way. Different
learning styles come into play in different situations. No one learns things in just one way all of the time.

Now that you have your scores, please proceed to PART A of the
Worksheet for Lesson 1 to complete your reflection.
