1 Overview

1.1 Application
WiseSMS is a message server which is to send alarm message to manager when the UPS abnormal
monitored by SNMP card. The short message server can be used for 1000 pieces SNMP card at the
same time. It make the hardware resource sharing come true, meanwhile, it improves the use
efficiency of the Modem.

1.2 Software Environment

 Microsoft Windows XP(32/64)

 Microsoft Windows 7(32/64)

 Microsoft Windows 8(32/64)

 Microsoft Windows Server 2003(32/64)

 Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2(32/64)

 Microsoft Windows Server 2012(64)

The early operating system, such as Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT, Microsoft Windows 2000, may
not so good in compatibility, if you want to use them, please consult the supplier.

2 Operation Procedure

2.1 Install WiseSMS

Put the CD into CD ROM drive, click WiseSMS.exe icon, then it will start to install, as shown in
Figure2-1 to Figure2-8.

If other software is not allowed to install in system disk, please set the installing folder by yourself,
which is to avoid abnormal installation or running, etc.

2.2 Unload WiseSMS

If it needs to unload, you can unload the software from start menu or installing folder according to
the uninstall wizard.

3.1 Main Interface

The detailed description for each part of the window is as follows.

 Show the current status and information of short message server: includes server address, server
state, COM state and COM name.

3.2 Setting
Set the server port, server user name and password, Modem serial number, Modem baud rate, retry
time, automatic starting, etc.

Function Description

Server port Set the server port (note: set range 1~65535)

Max. client Set the maximum client number (note: the max. client end is 1000)

Server user name and Set the user name and password of server, select the selection box to
password enable it.

1.The port setting of upper computer, which connected to the server, should be in accord with that of
server and then, it will connect normally.

2.When selecting the use name and password, the upper computer should configure right user name
and password, and then it can login the server normally.

Function Description

Serial number Select the serial port that connect with Modem

Baud rate Select the baud rate of connected Modem

It is the retry time when sending failure (note: the max. retry

 The baud rate of the server should be in accord with that of Modem.

 The network system of selected SIM card should be in accord with that of Modem. If any
question, please contact your supplier.

3.3 Message test

After finishing the above settings, you can test if it can send right message in current setting when
enter right phone number and test message in SMS test window.

The entering phone number should add the nation code (for example: Chinese phone number is
13333333333, the nation code of China is 86, then the entering phone number should be
8613333333333).

3.4 Event Log

You can look up the event log of the server, including the event date/time, type, IP address, phone
number, event content and result, and at the same time, you can print and clear the event log.

The event log can save 10000 pieces event, if it exceeds the storage capacity, the new event will
cover the old ones. If user needs to save the event log, please backup the copies by yourself.
