    This thesis investigates the use of pumice stone as a partial replacement for coarse aggregate in concrete. Experimental tests were conducted to determine the compressive and tensile strengths of concrete with varying proportions of pumice stone replacement. Sieve analysis and physical properties tests were conducted on the materials used. Concrete mixes were designed for M30 grade concrete by replacing coarse aggregate with 0%, 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% pumice stone. Cubes and cylinders were cast and tested at 7 and 28 days to determine their compressive and split tensile strengths. The results showed that concrete with 20-40% pumice stone replacement achieved comparable strengths to normal concrete while providing benefits of reduced weight.
