In this day and age, more and more contemporary attention has been placed on whether secondary education is necessary or

not when the unemployment rate is relatively high. In my opinion, the role of secondary school cannot be replaced for the

following reasons.

First and foremost, secondary education is a key ingredient to create a competent workforce for each country. Regardless of

the advancement of technology which replaces the role of a number of employees, every industry requires humans to

implement the tasks. In addition to this, the high unemployment rate emphasizes the high rate of competition to get a job,

which means students need a proper educational environment to study and create their own competitive advantages. If kids

have a chance to study higher, they would become skillful workers who can facilitate the process of economic

development. Consequently, more jobs are generated and the rate of unemployment can be diminished significantly.
The second reason is that letting students enjoy secondary school life is pivotal for their comprehensive development.

Higher education not only provides knowledge to get a job but also provides them with several skills that are necessary for

their future. For instance, students from 6 th grade in Vietnam start to get used to working in a team and having a

presentation in front of their classmates, which can enhance their interpersonal and communication skills, while primary

school just provides basic knowledge, such as how to read a text or to do a simple calculation. Furthermore, children in

their young age are easily affected by bad things; thus, they need an environment to learn what is the right thing to do and

become a good person.

In conclusion, regardless of the level of unemployment, the government should not eliminate secondary school out of

education systems because of the giant advantages it brings to society.
