6-2 Example 1 Project Crashing

1. The document discusses crashing a project schedule to minimize total project costs using critical path method. 2. It provides the activity details of a sample project with 5 activities (A, B, C, D, E) along with their normal times, crash times, costs. 3. It then calculates the project duration and total costs after crashing different critical activities individually (A, B) and together (B, C) to determine the optimal crash plan with the lowest total cost of $18,066 achieved by crashing B by 2 weeks.

 Since the new TC (total cost) is greater than previous TC, stop the iteration.
 The previous iteration solution (No. 3) is the best for implementation.
 Therefore, the final crashed project completion time is 14 weeks and the TC is 18,066 $
