LET’S TALK

D o you know most of the things we see today

in the nations of the world are harvests of the
decisions that were made in years gone by? The state
of a nation today is, more often than not, a product of
the choices, decisions, and actions of its past leaders.
For many, their national anniversary has become a time
to reflect on the past and wish for “the good old days.”
Many wonder how the state of their economies remains
comatose after so many years of self-determination.
Well, it may be a fact that your nation has been
dominated by governments that have been indifferent to
the needs of its people, but you have to make a personal
choice to move forward from that. Rather than join the
band of critics, naysayers, and rabble-rousers blaming
and fighting their governments over the state of affairs in
the country, I challenge you to be a solution provider, and
pray for your nation.
You can effect definite changes in the realm of the
spirit through prayer, to the advantage of your nation.
That’s why Jesus said, “..men ought always to pray, and
not to faint” (Luke 18:1 KJV). That means pray always, and

don’t give up, because when you pray, you make power
available to establish works of righteousness in your nation.
Through prayer, we cause the will of God to be done in
the earth as it is in heaven. It’s your responsibility to change
your nation and your world at large through the power of
prayer.

LET’S TALK

W hen interceding for your nation, there are

certain areas you’ve got to focus on and
have a clear goal in mind as you pray. One of such is the
institutions of higher learning and the young people in
them. I believe the young people are the greatest asset
of any country, and this is why you must pray for young
people like yourself, in every secondary school and college
throughout your country and other nations of the world.
You don’t just pray for a particular school once and stop.
You continue in prayer because you want to bring the
influence of God’s power to bear on the situation there
and have it aligned with God’s Word and will.
Pray for as many high schools, colleges, and
universities as you can remember. Call them by name and
ask for the manifested presence of God in them. I began
preaching to large crowds and ministering to the sick as
a student in secondary school, so I know what more our
young people can do in their schools. The same vices
and cultism we hear of today were in the schools when I
was a student, but by God’s Spirit, we prevailed. I believe
there are many young people like you today who can

accomplish a lot in the schools for the Lord. Your part is to
pray for an outpouring of the Spirit, and that He’ll give them
utterance to speak His Word boldly, and cause them to do
the impossible and affect their generation.
Become persistent in your prayers for the young
people in your country. Pray for as long as it takes—
until you get that “note of victory” in your spirit and you
know you have what you’ve asked for. Keep praying until
righteousness shines forth from the schools and salvation
flames up like a torch among the young people.

here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not
a secret to be kept....”

LET’S TALK

L ooking at Matthew 5:13-14, we see the Lord

highlighting two of our extraordinary attributes
as new creations in Christ: He calls us the salt of the
earth and the light of the world. This lets you know your
purpose and relevance in the world. Besides its other uses,
salt is a preservative as well as a seasoning. It preserves
food against decay and also gives it flavour. So, as “the salt
of the earth,” God is trusting you to preserve and bring
flavour to your world. This you can achieve by manifesting
the love of God and sharing His Word with those in your
sphere of contact (family, friends, neighbours, etc). This is
your God-given responsibility.
Also, the latter part of the scripture says, “You are
the light of the world....” What is light? Light is that which
reveals; it makes manifest and shows the way. Light gives
direction. Being the light of the world means you’re to
give direction and guidance to those in your world. You’re
a city set on a hill that can’t be hidden. Light up your
world! Live up to your calling. The Bible says, “Arise, shine;

for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen
upon you” (Isaiah 60:1). It doesn’t matter in which city, street,
town, village or country you find yourself; you’re the light!
So, shine that men may see your good works and glorify
your Father who is in heaven.
Continue praying and winning souls, for the time
is short. Keep frustrating and paralysing the works of the
adversary by preaching the Gospel and demonstrating the
love of God to those in your world and the regions beyond.

S ome Christians have attitudes that are unbecoming

of Christ. Their negative behaviour is manifested
in the way they treat others badly in their neighbourhood,
at school, and even at home (their parents and siblings).
Don’t ever find yourself emulating such; always let your
behaviour be exemplary, one that pleases the Lord.
It’s important that you renew your mind with the
Word of God, and be sure that your affections, choices,
thoughts and desires are in line with the Word. Be a true
Christian in heart and in action.
The Word of God has been given to us to check our
actions, motives, thoughts, and desires. The Scriptures
have been given to you to build, train, instruct and correct
you in the life of righteousness. Let it guide you. As you
give yourself wholly to the Word, it’ll transform your life
and help you form the right character and mindset. It’ll
get rid of all the wrong stuff and cleanse you from all
unrighteousness. Jesus said, “You are already clean because
of the word which I have spoken to you” (John 15:3). The
Word of God will purify and sanctify you.

 Even now, the Word is carrying out His ministry in you,
cleansing you and taking you to another level of glory. Make
up your mind to live in and by the Word and express the
righteousness of God. Live the true Christian life.

heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne
of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set
the world upon them.””

LET’S TALK

T here’s no disadvantage for the child of God, and you

better believe that! It makes no difference how you
were born, who your parents are, your present environment,
or your historical background. Being born again, your life is
intended by God to go only in the direction of success. You
may have been born into an extremely poor family; it doesn’t
mean anything! You’re the seed of Abraham. Therefore, your
prosperity has nothing to do with your biological parents or
family tree. No law from God states that those born in the
palace would fare better in life than those born in a hamlet in
some poor countryside.
Actually, the worse the circumstances of your birth, the
greater and more glorious your testimony! So, never have
a reason to be ashamed of the circumstances of your birth,
background, or current location. Rather, make up your mind
you’re going to be very successful, and be the answer to the
cry of others in that place. Be the one to change the status
quo. If you’re from a poor home, don’t be ashamed of your
parents or their background! Stay there and work your way

upwards! Just because your neighbours seem to be better off
doesn’t mean you should covet their possessions and wish they
belonged to you instead.
Be glad about where you’re from and thank God for it!
Remember, God raises the poor out of the dust and lifts the
beggar from the dunghill to set them among princes, and to
make them inherit the throne of glory. Trust Him to make your
life glorious. There’s no limitation for you if you’d only trust the
Lord with your life.

LET’S TALK

T ruly prosperous and successful people are often

very humble, humble enough to recognise that
the Lord can use others as much as He can use them. This
is unlike some others who believe God uses only them to
accomplish any major thing in their family, school, nation,
or church. If God were to do anything without them being
in the limelight, they wouldn’t accept it. That’s selfishness,
and no one can walk with the Spirit of God with such an
attitude.
If you truly desire to glorify the Lord and see His
righteousness exalted in the hearts of people everywhere,
then it doesn’t matter who He uses to accomplish it. The
most important thing is that through His Church, His
purpose and desire for the nations and peoples of the
world are being fulfilled. Learn to bless the Lord and praise
Him when He does something good for, or through,
someone else. When someone else is esteemed better
than you, it shouldn’t hurt your ego in any way; be happy
for that person, because it’s for the glory of God.
He promotes each one of us, blesses and works in
our lives in accordance with His dream and destiny for
us. Never feel that no one else deserves to be ahead

of you. The Bible says, “…“Not by might nor by power, but
by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6). That
someone else is succeeding doesn’t mean you’re failing.
Be appreciative of the successes of others and praise the
Lord on their behalf. When God sees that humility in your
life, He’ll lift you; He’ll promote you. Be that youngster who
genuinely appreciates and celebrates the successes and
victories of others.

TO THE BIBLE Psalm 115:16 MSG

“The heaven of heavens is for GOD, but he put us in charge of
the earth.”

LET’S TALK

P eople sometimes ask questions like “Why can’t

God just save everybody in the world, since He
wants them saved? Why do we have to pray to Him to do
what He wants? Can’t He stop all the pain and suffering
people are going through?”
Maybe you’ve wondered about some of these
questions yourself. Well, the truth is, God needs our
permission to act in the earth. Though the earth always
belonged to God, He leased it to Adam and gave him
full authority over it. In other words, He put the earth in
Adam’s hands. And as long as that lease is on, God has no
right, as it were, to intervene in the earth without man’s
permission.
Now, when you study Genesis 3, you’ll see how satan
came into the picture and how Adam committed treason
against God and willingly sold his right to the earth to
satan. Thus, satan’s authority over the earth isn’t angelic
but Adamic authority, and thus, God can’t intervene.
Understand this: if your dad leased his landed property
for a year, for example, he can’t encroach on it within that
period, even though it’s his. He’d be trespassing if he did.
He can only reclaim it when the lease runs out after one
year.

 Now, though God sent a second Adam—Jesus
Christ—to defeat satan and set up a spiritual kingdom,
man’s lease on the earth is still running. This is why you pray
and act by faith to appropriate the blessings that God has
already given to you. He can’t just step in “uninvited”; He
needs your permission to intervene on your behalf because
this is your world. So, every time you pray, understand how
important it is, because you’re making it legally possible for
God to intervene in some ways that He wouldn’t have, had
you not prayed.

THE BIBLE

“The Bible” was not originally known by that name. The English
name “Bible,” given to the collection of inspired books we read today,
was originally called “The Divine Library” by Saint Jerome, a Latin
Christian historian and theologian in the 4th Century.

Here are some more interesting facts about the Bible:

1. The English word “Bible” comes from the Greek words “Biblios”
(the inner bark of the papyrus, a sheet or scroll of writing on which
early writings were inscribed) and “Biblion” (a small book, scroll, or
written document).

2. The Bible was written in three languages—Hebrew, Aramaic,

and Greek—from at least two continents (Europe and Asia), over a
period spanning 16 centuries (approximately 1500 B.C. to A.D. 100).

3. 40 authors contributed to the Bible. They included kings,
peasants, prophets, philosophers, fishermen, poets, statesmen,
and scholars.

4. The Bible is about 611,000 words long.

5. The shortest book in the New testament is 3rd John with a total
of 219 words. In the Old Testament, the shortest book is Obadiah
with 440 words.

6. The longest book in the Bible (with the most chapters) is the
book of Psalms.

7. The shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117 with only two
verses. The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119 with 176
verses.

8. There are at least 185 songs in the Bible.

9. “Mahershalalhashbaz” is the longest word in the Bible, and

it’s in Isaiah 8:3.

10. “Amen” is the very last word in the Bible, and it means “So
be it.”

TO THE BIBLE 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 MSG

“…Didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place
of the Holy Spirit? Don’t you see that you can’t live however you
please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The
physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the
spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see
God in and through your body.”

LET’S TALK

D o you know your body belongs to God? Yes, it

does, because He bought your whole being—
spirit, soul, and body—with the precious blood of His
Son Jesus. However, He has made you the caretaker of
your body. A caretaker is someone placed in charge of a
building or an estate, with the responsibility of ensuring
it is maintained in good condition, in such a way that it is
comfortable for the people who live in it or make use of it.
As an effective caretaker of God’s property, you
must take good care of your physical body. Maintain
proper sanitary and hygienic conditions, because you can
get sick if you don’t. A dirty environment attracts all kinds
of infections, so you must keep your surroundings neat if
you must remain healthy and strong. Ensure also that you
don’t overwork your body; give it the rest it deserves.
Understand that whatever happens in your “house”
(i.e., your body) is your responsibility. It’s up to you to keep
your body strong and in good health. Don’t allow the

devil to attack it with sickness, disease, and infirmity. God
has already done all He needs to do about your physical
state. He’s made divine health available to you; don’t let
anything stop you from living in it. Look after your “house”
carefully, and you’ll enjoy living in it throughout your time
here on earth.

TO THE BIBLE Ephesians 4:31-32 NIV

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander,
along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to
one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave
you.”

LET’S TALK

W hen you come across someone who’s bitter

and keeps malice, you can be sure such a
person is also unforgiving. The reason is that bitterness
and malice are both products of unforgivingness. In 1
Corinthians 14:20 (NIRV), Apostle Paul advised: “Brothers
and sisters, stop thinking like children. Be like babies as far
as evil is concerned. But be grown up in your thinking.” He
said so because babies don’t know how to be bitter or
keep malice. They’re too innocent for that; they don’t have
enough sense to even recognise any wrong done to them.
Know this: every time you allow bitterness and
malice any space in your heart, you stop the power of
God from working in your life and you immediately open
the door to Satan. For instance, there was a time when
Prophet Elisha was so angry and bitter against the King
of Israel that he couldn’t hear what the Spirit of God was
saying to him (2 Kings 3:14).
Think about this: God doesn’t keep in mind your
many offences and all the countless mistakes that you
make. He always forgives you; so, why not be like your

heavenly Father and learn to forgive people, no matter their
offence against you? Don’t regard the wrongs done to you
by others, and don’t dwell on their actions to the extent
that you become bitter and begin to keep malice. Say a big

LET’S TALK

J esus said whenever you ask anything in His Name,

He’ll give it to you so your joy may be full (John
16:23-24). This means you can have anything you want!
There’s no reason for you to be in lack as a child of God.
Take pride in your Heavenly Father. People shouldn’t ask
if it’s your birthday or some other special occasion just
because you’re dressed well and looking good. If the
Lord would clothe the lilies of the field in such beauty and
splendour, how much more you, His child!
When you’re happy, excited, smiling, laughing,
singing, and whistling joyfully, people shouldn’t wonder
if you just hit the jackpot—that ought to be your lifestyle!
This doesn’t mean some people won’t ask. They will
because it’s unusual to them, but you should exude the
joy of the Spirit everywhere you are. Why? God has given
you all things richly to enjoy, and you know it!
The Lord said, “...every beast of the forest is Mine,
and the cattle on a thousand hills...the world is Mine, and
all its fullness” (Psalm 50:10-12). He also said, “The silver is
mine and the gold is mine...” (Haggai 2:8 NIV). Who do you

think He prepared all these things for? His kids of course!
That’s why nothing is too good for you to have and enjoy.
So, refuse to think or act small. Make up your mind to enjoy
the glorious life God has called you to in all its fullness.

LET’S TALK

I magine that your dad worked in a highly-sensitive

government facility and you had the incredible
privilege of touring it—alone! Of course, there would
be certain “restricted areas” in the building you would
need to punch in the right password or code to enter;
otherwise, you’ll be denied access. In the same way, to
access certain secrets and mysteries in the realm of the
spirit, you need to key in the right codes by speaking in
tongues! It’s the coded language of the spirit, reserved
only for the initiated—those who are born again; that’s
why it makes no sense to the natural mind of the one who
isn’t born again.
What’s more, when you speak in tongues, you
express yourself better to God and reveal to angels how
to destroy the works of the enemy (Ephesians 3:10). This
is because they don’t know everything there is to know
about God and His glorious Kingdom, so they listen to
you to know more. At the same time, when you speak in
tongues, satan and his cohorts are confounded, because
they can’t decode what you’re saying.

 Speaking in tongues also positions you in God’s
perfect will for you. You may not know what steps to take
regarding your education, finances, relationships and other
things that concern you, but as you speak this coded
language, light will come to your spirit and you’ll know
exactly what to do. So, take advantage of this divine access
code by making it a personal habit to speak in tongues
every day!

L inda was going through some very unpleasant

experiences: her family was in a financial crisis;
her younger brother had been kicked out of school; and
as if that wasn’t enough, she recently lost a dear friend.
She felt so overwhelmed by all that was happening that
she almost gave up her faith in God. It’s the same for some
Christians today; when faced with challenging situations,
they’re left with the choice to either cave in or respond
with the right attitude of faith.
When the Apostle Paul faced trying times, he didn’t
grumble, complain, become discouraged, or blame God
for what was happening to him. Instead, he chose to see
those trials as times of training, preparing and equipping
him with the ability to help others in their times of trouble.
Now, that’s the winning attitude—the attitude of faith! He
looked away from the problem and instead embraced the
comfort of God’s Spirit (2 Corinthians 4:17).

allow any hurtful or unpleasant experience to overwhelm
you; always be hopeful and courageous, and you’ll come

S everal times in Scripture, angels appeared as

human beings, dressed in regular clothes, just
like everyday people. On a certain occasion, three men
came by Abraham’s tent (Genesis 18:2), and the Bible
lets us know one of them was the Lord Himself, while the
other two were angels. When the two angels went into
Sodom and Gomorrah, the men of those cities saw them
as ordinary men, because they looked just like anybody
else. This is because angels have the authority to appear
in a glorified form or a concealed manner.
No wonder God’s Word instructs us to be kind and
helpful to strangers. Some folks don’t treat strangers well;
if they don’t know you, they don’t care about you and
wouldn’t help you. But Hebrews 13:2 says, “Do not forget to
entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly
entertained angels.” When the Lord and His two angels
appeared outside Abraham’s tent, He was actually there to
visit Abraham, but He needed his invitation into his home.
Thank God Abraham was wise to invite them, or he and
Sarah would have missed their miracle (Genesis 18:2-14).

 Don’t miss the time of your visitation by being
negligent of or unwelcoming to strangers. The Lord may
just have come to you through them, bearing that answer
you’ve been waiting to receive from Him.

S ome people pray to “Jesus” in the Name of Jesus;

some even pray to angels! That is so wrong!
There’s a way God expects you to pray, and if you don’t
understand it, you’ll muddle up your prayers and never
receive answers. Praying to get results requires that you
you understand the place of the Father, the Son, the Holy
Spirit, and the angels.
Jesus said in John 16:23, “And on that day you will
not question Me about anything. Truly, truly I say to you,
if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will
give it to you” (NASB). So it’s the Father that answers our
prayers. We’ve been granted the power of attorney to
use the Name of Jesus. When we make requests of the
Father in the Name of Jesus, it’s as though Jesus Himself
were praying. However, the Holy Spirit is the one who
makes it happen; He’s the power of God. He’s the doer,
the performer of the works of God.
What about the angels? They’re servants of God
who carry out assignments the Holy Spirit wants them to.
Furthermore, they’re ministering spirits sent to minister

for us, the heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14). How wonderful
it is to realise you can enjoy an awesome ministry of the
Holy Spirit, and initiate angelic activities as you pray in the
Name of Jesus!

O ftentimes, when there’s chaos, anarchy and

turmoil in a place, many don’t realise that it’s
the devil behind such negative activities. The wars that
have ravaged many countries in the world were not
merely the result of disagreements between one President
and another; they were caused by demonic spirits. Those
demonic spirits influenced certain people and caused
them to make decisions that resulted in anarchy and war
in those nations. It wasn’t just the men or the armies of
those nations that wanted war; there were demons behind
the scenes, pulling the strings.
This is the reason, as a Christian, you can’t afford to
sit idly by or be complacent while the devil runs rampage
in your nation. You need to learn not just to pray, but to
pray the right way. You also need to learn how to use the
Name of Jesus to come against the demonic powers that
lure people into chaos and fuel trouble in a nation and
command them to quit.

T he life of the new creature in Christ is supernatural.

Recall that after the resurrection of Jesus, the
disciples were together in a room, and though the doors
were tightly shut, the Lord suddenly came in among them.
That was a demonstration of the limitless nature of the
new creature.
Faith was what you required to be born again.
Having been born again, the real thing has come; eternal
life has now been imparted to your spirit. The life in you
now isn’t something you’re trying to get or that you’re
“having faith” for; it’s a vital reality now. Hebrews 11:1
describes faith as the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen. It’s the evidence, proof, or
title deed of unseen realities.
You might then want to ask, “So, where’s the place
of faith in the life of the new creature?” The Bible says
in 2 Corinthians 5:7: “For we walk by faith, not by sight,”
meaning that it is by faith that you walk (or live) in the
reality of the unseen realm—beyond the ordinary plane.

Nevertheless, the life of God in you now is a present-day
reality. Be conscious of this, and not only will it become
more real to you, but you’ll also live every day without limits.

A drunken man is likely to act in a way he wouldn’t

when he’s in his right senses or under normal
circumstances. Now, the Greek term translated “drunk” in
the verse above expresses a state of being full of drink to
the point that it controls you. However, the focus here isn’t
the drink; the focus is on what should be controlling you.
God is saying, “Don’t be controlled by wine; rather be full
of the Spirit; yield to His leading and let Him control you.”
He wants you to be full of the Spirit always!
Many Christians live ordinary lives because they’re
not continually filled with the Spirit; they dabble in and out
of it. Meanwhile, the Word’s admonition is for you to be
continually filled with the Spirit; be perpetually high on the
Holy Ghost! That way, your life will be an unending stream
of the supernatural. When we talk about a life of constant
victory, this is what we mean; it’s a life that’s Spirit-ruled
and Spirit-controlled.
When you’re constantly filled with the Spirit, you’ll
be able to see things God’s way; you wouldn’t operate at
the ordinary plane of life that most people live on. You’ll

function from a higher realm. Learn to yield to the sway
of God’s Spirit; surrender yourself to His leading. That’s the
secret to a life of unending victories and ever-increasing
glory.

T he scripture above lets you know you’re the

architect of your life. Some people don’t
understand this; some others don’t even believe in it, but
it doesn’t change the fact that it’s true. The life you’re
living today is the exact picture you painted with your
words yesterday. Your talk is your future. Your tongue is
the director of your life.
James likened the tongue to the rudder of a great
ship with which the captain directs it wherever he wants
(James 3:2). This means that where your tongue goes,
your life goes. If your tongue speaks poverty, lack, want,
or sickness, that’s the way your life will be. But if you speak
health, wealth, success, and abundance, that’s what you’ll
also have in your life.
I can’t emphasise this strongly enough, but your life
today is the result of what you said years ago. Who you are
today is the result of what you said yesterday. Remember,
what we read in our opening scripture: “Death and life are
in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its
fruit.” This means you can build your life with your tongue;
your tongue will produce for you a harvest of what you
say, good or bad.

control over your own life. Nobody else can steer your life
in a direction you don’t want it to go, except you let them.
Now that you know you’re responsible for how your life
turns out, make a quality decision to speak only the right
words—God’s Word—about yourself, and you’ll surely have

LET’S TALK

S tephen was in a church when he heard, for the

first time, that God didn’t require righteousness
from him. He was in absolute shock because all his life,
growing up close to a monastery, he’d heard that God
wanted him to be very righteous, by his daily actions and
way of living, without which he wouldn’t make heaven!
But all that came crashing down the moment he heard the
preacher at church teaching from Romans 5:17-21 about
God’s gift of righteousness. And that day, he received it!
You see, Jesus Christ didn’t come with the law; He
came with grace, and brought us righteousness as a gift
(John 1:17). Righteousness is the expression of the will and
nature of the Father. He declared us righteous because
we’re new creations in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For He
made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might
become the righteousness of God in Him.” Romans 4:25
lets us know that He (Jesus) “…was delivered up because of
our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.”
Thus, He’s cleared you of all sin.
When you heard the Gospel and believed, declaring
Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life, you became

the recipient of His grace and righteousness. You weren’t
justified before God because of your own righteousness; no!
You stand in Christ’s righteousness; it’s the result of what
Jesus did. He came not only to reveal the righteousness of
God (the will and nature of the Father) but also to make us
the righteousness of God. He’s given you that nature, ability,
authority, and ministry, to carry on what He began both to
do and teach. He’s endowed you with the gift and ability to
reveal and manifest the will, purpose and character of your
heavenly Father. What a life!

a young lad, Joseph’s dreams were out of this world!
Though his brothers hated him for all his extraordinary
dreams of greatness, he kept on dreaming and telling
them about his dreams. Though later imprisoned on
spurious charges, he eventually became the prime
minister of Egypt and preserved Egypt and other nations
from famine.
It’s time for you to dream and dream big. It’s a
decision you must make. Dream big for your nation,
finances, family, job or business! Make sure your vision
for success is big enough to require the supernatural
element! Stretch your vision. Refuse to put your mind to
sleep; keep dreaming! See yourself doing big things.

He’s actually goodness personified and He wants you to
spread His goodness all around. 1 Peter 2:9 AMPC declares
about you, His child, that “…you are a chosen race, a royal
priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased,
special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds
and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called
you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” He’s called
you out of darkness into His marvellous light. This means
that you’ve been called and sent by God to manifest and
administer the will, purpose, and character of God to your
world; you’ve become a dispenser of His goodness.
Not only are you the recipient of God’s blessings or
His righteousness, but you’ve also become the dispenser
of His goodness. This is your job; this is your ministry; this
is your life. It’s what Jesus did: He’s endowed you with the
gift; the ability to reveal and manifest the goodness of
your heavenly Father to your world.

for His expression, the expression of His glory, love, and
grace. Become conscious of this truth, and you’ll never walk
in confusion or despondency! Rather, your life will be an

SCOPE
“METAMORPHOSIS”
The word “metamorphosis” in its simplest form means a
change in state, kind, or quality by a living organism, yet
the organism still possesses the same life in it, despite the
changes it undergoes.

In science terms, it means a biological process by which

an animal physically develops after birth, and the process
involves a conspicuous or abrupt change in the animal’s
body structure through cell growth and differentiation.
A good and commonest example of this kind of change
is the developing stages of the butterfly: egg to larva to
pupa, and then to adulthood.

In the epistle of Paul the Apostle, the word is used to

connote a physical transformation or transfiguration, which
is a result of the renewing of the mind (Romans 12:1-2).
This transformation is a result of a new level of awareness
and knowledge received by studying and meditating on
God’s Word. And just like the butterfly goes through the
different stages in its life, the Lord desires that we don’t
remain at the lower stages of our Christian growth, but
be fully grown into “...mature adults, fully developed within
and without, fully alive like Christ” (Ephesians 4:13 MSG).

G od desires to have your attention all the time.

He wants you to think about Him and talk His
Word continuously. He knows if He has your attention,
you’ll be led and guided into the destiny He’s planned
for you. He knows what’s best for you and what your
life should be like. There’s, therefore, nothing for you to
worry over, except to live confidently and joyfully every
day, knowing He’s with you, in you, and for you. He has
everything required to bring you into the inheritance and
destiny He’s ordained for you.
The Lord is your exceedingly great reward (Genesis
15:1). To have Him is to have everything because He’s all
you’ll ever need in life and more. By that, I mean He’s your
satisfaction. This is why you must not allow anything to
distract you or take your focus away from serving Him. Set
your affection on Him and on the things He cares about.
Remember, you’re not of this world; therefore, your
affection shouldn’t be on the things of this world. The
Bible says, “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those

things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right
hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things
on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ
in God” (Colossians 3:1-3). All that you are, and all that you
have, are in Him. He’s your reason for being. Trust Him with
your life, and He’ll order your steps and direct the affairs of
your life to be in sync with His perfect will for you.

LET’S TALK

A clear and fundamental truth revealed in the

Word of God is that man is primarily a spirit
being; he’s not a mind or a physical body. God enlightens
him primarily through his spirit. Many philosophers have
theorised that man’s enlightenment should be only
through his mind, and they’re wrong. Empiricist philosophy
teaches that something is unreal except observable by
the five senses. Therefore, by limiting knowledge to man’s
senses, empiricism denounces belief, because believing
has to do with things your senses can’t perceive or prove.
Man, however, has the capacity to believe.
Romans 10:10 says, “For with the heart one believes unto
righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.” Man believes with his heart or spirit, not his
mind. This was the missing link for the philosophers, who
had no idea that the spirit of man is where the light of God
shines for him to receive spiritual enlightenment.
Romans 4:3 says, “Abraham believed God, and
it was accounted to him for righteousness.” He believed
the unseen with his spirit, not with his mind because
only the spirit can receive spiritual information and

insights from God. The divine life you have in Christ is a life
beyond the ordinary level of perception; it’s life beyond the
comprehension of man’s mentality.

LET’S TALK

G od is love (1 John 4:8), and His love is a true and

practical one: a love that’s selfless, liquid, and
unfeigned; love that can be seen, felt, and touched. That’s
His kind of love, and it takes the Holy Spirit to demonstrate
it. His love is expressed toward people who are the objects
of His devotion. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son...” (John 3:16); not the
world of things, but the world of humans. He created
man and made friends with him. When mankind failed by
disobeying God, it didn’t quench God’s love. Rather, the
failure was an opportunity for God to further express His
great love for man.
Our opening verse says, “But God demonstrates
His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.” Can you imagine that? While we were
yet sinners, Christ died for us—not after we came to Him.
Now, Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that
you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also
love one another” (John 13:34). How has He loved you?
He loved you when you didn’t deserve it when you were
still a sinner: “But God’s mercy is so abundant, and his love

for us is so great, that while we were spiritually dead in our
disobedience he brought us to life with Christ…” (Ephesians
2:4-5 GNB). This is the same way He expects us to love
others.
Love is proved when tested, not necessarily when
everything is beautiful and in order. It’s proved when
there’s a challenge or a need. When others seem to be
most undeserving of love, it’s the perfect opportunity to
demonstrate God’s love. Seize every opportunity to express
your love today!

“For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many
who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame
were healed. And there was great joy in that city.”

LET’S TALK

P hilip, the evangelist, had preached Christ in the

city of Samaria, and the power of God’s Word
prevailed so much that many were healed and set free
from demons. The result was that the city erupted in great
joy. Another time, Paul and Silas were cast into prison,
persecuted for preaching the Gospel. Nevertheless, “at
midnight,” (it doesn’t get darker than it gets at midnight),
they prayed and sang praises to God, and the other
prisoners heard them (Acts 16:25). They expressed their
joy in spite of being shackled in jail for their faith in Jesus,
and the result was a supernatural jailbreak. God shook up
the prison, broke their bands and flung the gates open.
They remained joyful in adversity and gave expression to
their joy.
What are the expressions of joy? Well, laughter is
an expression of joy. Praising God—being jubilant and
enthusiastic with praise to Him—is another expression of
joy. Singing songs of praise in thanksgiving is an expression
of joy. The Bible says, “Is anyone among you suffering? Let
him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms” (James
5:13). Joy is one of the fruits of the recreated human spirit

(Galatians 5:22); therefore, your joy as a child of God should
be independent of circumstances. It shouldn’t be based on
what’s happening to you or around you; it shouldn’t have
anything to do with what others say or do to you.
You can be joyful in the midst of trouble. You must
learn to give expression to your joy. Always be cheerful and
exuberant with praise, knowing that it takes a joyful and
happy person to make others joyful and happy. If you’re
not joyful, you can’t effectively preach the Gospel and win
others to Christ.

G od made this world and gave Adam the

authority to run it. He placed all things under
him and gave him dominion, to be in charge of everything,
living and non-living (Genesis 1:26). When He said to man,
“Replenish the earth,” the word “replenish” brings to mind
some very important thoughts. The beautiful world God
created had become a chaotic mass, and He blessed man
and charged him to replenish it. To replenish means to
refill, refurbish, replace, repair, or restore.
That means something had gone wrong; there was
a devil out there who had ruined things, and man was
given the opportunity and responsibility to fix it. That’s the
beautiful life to which we’ve been called in Christ: a life of
dominion, authority, blessings, and control over the world
in which we live. We’re to tame this world and subdue it.
However, God didn’t charge us to subdue one
another on the earth. What He wants from us concerning
one another is to walk in love. 1 John 4:7-8 says, “Dear
friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God
is love” (NIV). As you walk in dominion and authority over
the world and its elements, over the vagaries of nature, He
says, “Love one another.” Don’t exert undue dominion over
others because each one of us is made in the image and
likeness of our heavenly Father.

Y ou’ve been called to a supernatural walk with

God for an unending life of absolute victory,
mastery and dominion. However, if your experience of
life is at variance with this reality, chances are that you’ve
been operating at the base level of the natural senses.
You need to step up and lay hold of God’s blessings with
your spirit through the eyes of faith.
God wants you to think and function at His level.
He doesn’t want your outlook on life to be from the
natural standpoint; He wants you to see with the eyes
of the Spirit. When you learn to see with the eyes of the
Spirit, the world will suddenly become small to you.
Ephesians 5:18 says you should be filled with the
Spirit continually, and the nineteenth verse shows you
how: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart
to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19). If you’re filled with the
Spirit, you’ll be supernaturally enabled and spiritually
perceptive. You’ll never be confused or perturbed about
anything.

W hen God wanted to deliver the children of Israel

out of Egypt, He sent Moses and gave him the
necessary credentials for the task. To take them into the
Promised Land, He sent Joshua with His full backing. To
save the world, He sent His Son Jesus in the form of a
man. God always sends men to men. You might ask, “Can
a man know that God has sent him?” Emphatically yes!
When John the Baptist wanted to know if Jesus was
the Christ, he sent two of his disciples to go find out about
Jesus. The Master’s response was simply remarkable; He
outlined His credentials: “…Go and tell John the things
which you hear and see: ‘The blind see and the lame walk;
the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are
raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them’”
(Matthew 11:4-5).
Whenever God wants to do something for a nation
or a people, He sends them a man, and He gives him the
necessary credentials for ministry. He has sent you to your
“world”—your sphere of contact—to be His representative.
And He’s made His limitless power available to you

through the Holy Spirit and the Word! So, you can function
in the same grace and power as Jesus and the apostles did,
and you can have the same kind of results.

H ave you ever seen a traffic police officer pleading

with road users to comply with traffic rules? No,
he doesn’t beg people to obey; all he does is lift his hands,
and give the signals, and they’re obeyed. In reality, it’s not
the man who’s being obeyed, but the authority backing
him.
The confidence you exude depends on the authority
that’s back of you. Jesus said, “…I have been given all
authority (not some) in heaven and on earth!” (Matthew
28:18 CEV). He’s the only person in the entire universe ever
to have made such audacious declarations! None of the
religious leaders that walked this earth before, or after
Him, could dare speak with such authority and audacity.
Now, think about this: Jesus Christ—the King of
kings and Lord of lords—has given you His authority. Just
imagine the magnitude of power you wield, having been
sent in His Name and with His authority, to disciple all
nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19).

raised from the dead and declared by God to be His Son
with power (Romans 1:4). He’s got all authority in heaven,
on earth, and under the earth! So never be ashamed of
Him; always be quick to identify with Him and speak of Him.

W hen Matteo and his friends decided to start

telling other students in their school about
Jesus, they knew what they were up against; they had seen
how others who tried had attracted fierce persecution
from Dante’s notorious clique. But Matteo and his friends
knew better and were better prepared; they recognised
their authority in Christ, knowing they had been chosen
out of the world and separated unto a life of glory.
Like Matteo and his friends, you must know that
you’re not of this world; hence, you can’t think, talk or
live as though you are. You’re a special breed, born into
a kingly lineage with the life and nature of God. This is
why 1 Peter 2:9 (Weymouth) says that you’re “a chosen
race, a priesthood of kingly lineage, a holy nation, a people
belonging specially to God, that you may make known the
perfections of Him who called you out of darkness into His
marvellous light.”
You may say, “But I don’t see how this works. I still
look the same; I don’t look any different from the next
guy.” Yes, physically you may look ordinary, but in reality,

you’re royalty. You’re part of the separated class because
you’re born of God. He has separated you from the general
class unto the glory-life. You’ve been chosen to reign as a
king in life. Therefore, live the life you’ve been called to, and
reign as the king that you are! Walk on the path of victory,
triumph and success!

how you’ll be able to hear God speak to you above all the
noise? Well, the good news is that those who belong to
Christ have no problem identifying or hearing His voice.
Jesus said in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I
know them, and they follow Me.” In verse five of the same
chapter, He also said, “...they will by no means follow a
stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the
voice of strangers.”
God speaks through His Word. Even if He were to
give you a prophecy or a word from the Spirit, it’ll always
be consistent with His written Word. This means that your
ability to recognise God’s voice is tied to your knowledge
of His Word. If you’ve found it difficult to recognise God’s
voice, what you need to do is keep hearing and receiving
His Word into your spirit; that way you’ll become sensitive
to His voice.
Moreover, you have to learn to act quickly on God’s
Word and not delay. When you do this, you train your spirit

to respond to His voice. The more you pray in the spirit, that
is, in other tongues, the more sensitive your spirit becomes
to God’s voice. All these help to condition your spirit and
put you in sync with God’s ideas, visions, and promptings.

instructions and counsel from God’s Word and His Holy Spirit
