INSTRUCTIONS TO PROGRAM THE MTD8 DIGITAL INDUSTRIAL TIMER

Programming the MTD8 Digital Industrial Programable Timer

The first step is to set your Clock, the timer will not work correctly if your Clock is not set to the present
time.

SETTING THE CLOCK

• HOLD DOWN THE C+ BUTTON (CLOCK)


• WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE C+ BUTTON - PRESS THE W+ (WEEK) BUTTON UNTIL YOU HAVE
THE ACTUAL DAY SHOWING (MON, TUE, WED, ETC)
• STILL HOLDING DOWN THE C+ BUTTON - PRESS H+ (HOUR) BUTTON UNTIL YOU SEE THE
ACTUAL HOUR THAT IS YOUR TIME.
• STILL HOLDING DOWN THE C+ BUTTON - PRESS M+ (MINUTE) UNTIL YOU GET YOUR ACTUAL
MINUTES.
• RELEASE C+ BUTTON (CLOCK)
• YOUR CLOCK/TIME IS SET

SETTING YOUR TIMER

• PRESS THE TIMER Ꚛ BUTTON ONCE AND RELEASE (DO NOT HOLD DOWN)
• ON THE SCREEN YOU SHOULD SEE 1 ON, (THIS IS TO SET THE FIRST TIME YOU WOULD LIKE THE
TIMER TO COME ON).
• THEN PRESS THE W+ (WEEK) UNTIL YOU SEE THE DAY YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR TIMER TO COME
ON. YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING COMBINATIONS:

Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr, Sa, Su – individually OR

Mo,Tu,We,Th,Fr,Sa,Su

Mo,Tu,We,Th,Fr,

Sa,Su

Mo,Tu,We,Th,Fr,Sa

Mo,Tu,We

Th,Fr,Sa

• Select the day or days you would like your timer to come on (as above)
• Then Press the H+ (Hour) until you have the hour you would like your timer to switch on.
• Then Press the M+ (Minute) until you have the minutes you would like your timer to come on.
• That is your timer set to switch your timer ON.
• To set your timer to go off press TIMER Ꚛ BUTTON once and you will see on the screen, 1 OFF
• Then select the day or days with the W+ (week) button that you want your timer to switch off.
• Then select the H+ (hour) button to the hour you would like your timer to switch off.
• Then select the M+ (minute) button to the minute you would like your timer to switch off.
• You have now set your timer to switch OFF
• To do a second setting you will press TIMER Ꚛ BUTTON again until you see 2 ON , on the screen
and then follow the instructions as per setting for 1 On. You can do this up to 8 ON and 8 OFF
settings.

RES/RCL BUTTON

• The RES/RCL button is to clear just one setting. To do this you would press timer until you get to
the setting you want to clear and press the button.

‘R’ BUTTON

• This inverted button should only be pressed if you want to do a master clear. This will clear the
Clock and all the settings on the timer.

MANUAL BUTTON

• The manual button is to be used ONLY if you want to over ride the timer and switch whatever is
connected to the timer, on manually.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

• MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SET THE W+ (WEEK) DAY WHEN THE TIMER HAS TO SWITCH OFF, (VERY
IMPORTANT)
• MAKE SURE THE MANUAL SWITCH IS NOT PRESSED (IT MUST BE ON AUTO) AND RECHECK THE
SETTINGS ON THE TIMER.
• MAKE SURE YOUR CLOCK IS SET CORRECTLY.
