What Is Diversity Essay

Writing an essay on the topic of diversity can be a daunting task, requiring careful consideration and
thoughtfulness. Diversity is a multifaceted concept encompassing a wide range of dimensions such
as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, and more. Exploring this
topic requires a deep understanding of its complexities and implications.

One of the challenges of writing about diversity is navigating the sensitivity surrounding the subject.
It's essential to approach the topic with empathy and respect for the diverse experiences and
perspectives of individuals and communities. Additionally, discussing diversity often involves
addressing issues of inequality, discrimination, and privilege, which can be emotionally charged and
require tactful handling.

Another difficulty lies in capturing the breadth and depth of diversity adequately. With such a vast
array of identities and experiences to consider, it can be challenging to cover all aspects
comprehensively within the confines of an essay. Striking a balance between breadth and depth is
crucial, ensuring that the essay explores various dimensions of diversity while also delving into
specific examples or case studies to illustrate key points.

Moreover, writing a diversity essay necessitates critical reflection and introspection. It involves
examining one's own biases, assumptions, and privileges, as well as grappling with uncomfortable
truths about societal injustices and inequalities. This introspective aspect of the writing process can
be both challenging and rewarding, prompting personal growth and deeper understanding.

In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic of diversity requires sensitivity, empathy, and a
willingness to engage with complex and sometimes uncomfortable subject matter. It demands careful
thought and introspection to explore the nuances of diversity fully. However, by approaching the
topic with respect and an open mind, one can create an essay that fosters understanding and
promotes inclusivity.

Community Reflection Paper
I recently had the privilege of spending a week with a community called Furaha
Community Center that provides education, social services, and community action
efforts within a slum community called Haruma located in Nairobi, Kenya. The
community of Haruma has roughly 500,000 people living in the equivalent of 12 square
blocks. The communitysuffers from poor sanitation, rampant disease, and violence.
Furaha Community Center serves the poorest and the sickest of the community in
efforts to provide food, education, micro loans, and social services. The community is
defined by some outsiders as poor, sick, dirty, lazy, disease ridden, gang infested,
violent, sexually deviant, uneducated (education is not free in Kenya so many
families cannot afford to send their children to school) and beyond hope. Although
some of these descriptors are partially true, I found the community to be generous,
supportive, hard working, resilient, and joyful. To live in Haruma and be a member of
the community you have a difficult life. Tribal hierarchy defines your ability to obtain
opportunities to better yourself. Religion is a source of comfort, but is also used by
some religious leaders as a way gain power and influence over the desperate. Most people
work as day laborers and live day to day. They often do not eat every day because they
cannot find work. Fires, building collapses, gang activity, and violence are a part of
everyday life. Diseases spread rapidly while no medical care

Doing What s Right In the business world companies will run into times that they have to
make decision based on ethics. This outcome may not be illegal, but unethical, which is
just as important when running a business. Business Ethics is the concept of
distinguishing between right and wrong and then making the right choice. The right
choice may not always be the easiest or best alternative for the organization financially,
but it is the greatest option for the company and its shareholders overall. The idea of
businessethicsis important to create trust between consumers, the community, and others
involved with a given organization.
Stanford University Medical Research An example of proper business ethics is seen in the
case regarding the Stanford University Medical researcher team. The team studied the
correlation between the use of fertility drugs and ovarian cancer. In this case the
University notifies the consumers that the study is not certain, but is a possibility.
However, based on the research the FDA would like drug manufactures to disclose the
study s findings and provide a warning label. I believe the ethical thing for a manufacture

Bug Movie Related To Psychology
Bug (1975): Bug is a movie that takes place in the 1970 s in a small town in the state of
California. And one day unexpectedly the people experienced an earthquake, but little
did they know that tis earthquake resulted in the existence of an unknown cockroach that
just so happened to be radioactive. Throughout the movie the roaches destroy most
everything within their paths including pick up, experiments, and even people lives.
The professor in the movie then conducts a series of experiments to try and determine
what exactly these cockroaches are and whether or not they can be killed. Although, at
the end of the movie the cockroaches evolve and end up killing the professor and taking
him into a crack in the earth with them. During the movie there were parts that were
observations that were evidently correct entomological features. First that the
appearance of the cockroaches were all correct, such that they were dorso ventrally
flattened, had long, filamentous antennae, a pair of cerci at the hind end, and had six
legs. Also correct was that the egg sack, or ootheca, that the female cockroaches
produced were pursed shaped. Other observations that I was... Show more content on

interesting that I also found to be correct was when they were making promises they

Organic Food Social Justice Issue
operations to heavily processed foods are making their way onto store shelves and
passing off as USDA organic. The regulations that are in place are keeping small
farmers out of the loop. The price to register as organic with the USDA is too much
for small farmers to afford. The low prices offered by corporations are out competing
the small farmers. In addition to this, many foods that are pre frozen, packaged, and full
of dozens of ingredients are labeled organic. And if this was not enough, an enormous
quantity of organic foods is being shipped to the United States from overseas. These
shipped foods come with very low prices that the local farmer cannot match. The social

What is healthier, a frozen apple pie, labeled USDA organic but containing a dozen
ingredients, or an apple from your local farmer s market? The farmer may be using
pesticides and artificial fertilizer; things that were not used in the apple pie. However,
the apple pie may have been made with apples shipped from New Zealand or across
the world, and it may list ingredients that are just as perplexing as fast food ingredients;
carrageenan, xanthan gum, soy lecithin, inulin, tetrasodium pyrophosphate. All these
additives are allowed for use in USDA organic foods. There are an increasing amount
of people with interest in organic foods. However, the actual concepts between these
health foods is leading to confusion and frustration. My first goal is to define the terms
used in the health food industry. For example, the term organic can be misleading. It
can be defined by the USDA, or by other organizations by state or by other countries.
The terms sustainable or fair trade are often combined on organic food labels, but the
common consumer does not comprehend what they mean. Even the term whole foods
has lost its true meaning, due to conjuring up the image of Whole Foods
