THE LEGEND OF TELAGA WARNA

According to West Java folk legend, Telaga Colors happened because of a spoiled
princess of the Kutatanggeuhan kingdom named Putri Gilang Rukmini, who
harshly rejected birthday gifts in the form of gold necklaces and jewels. The Queen
was very saddened to see her daughter's behavior. And all the people also shed
tears, and the palace was wet with their tears. They kept crying until their tears
flooded the palace, and suddenly there came out of the ground, the more water they
had. Until then, the Kutatanggeuhan kingdom sank and created a very beautiful
lake.

On a clear day, we can see that the lake is full of beautiful and wonderful colors.
The color comes from the shadows of forests, plants, flowers, and the sky around
the bay. However, people said, the colors came from princess necklaces scattered
on the base of the trunk.
