Why Workers At Tewksbury Physical Therapy
Problem
Not every worker at Tewksbury Physical Therapy gets a break during their shift. There
are sixteen workers here, and only seven of those workers have scheduled lunch breaks,
and another 4 are able to take a break when they have a free minute. For the remaining
workers, we are left to be constantly working with only maybe time for a snack while we
treat a patient or print our insurance benefits. Every worker at Tewksbury Physical
Therapy deserves a break because breaks help workers be more productive and have a
higher energy level, have better employee engagement, and there are requirements by the
law for Massachusetts that say workers have an opportunity for a break.

Taking a lunch break refuels your mind. After lunch, you can focus on your work and
not your growling stomach. If you feel guilty about taking a break, remember that they
do not have to be long. A fifteen to twenty minute break will be sufficient enough to
recharge you. Studies go further and even recommend taking a nap if it is allowed
because your body is completely recharged after a twenty minute nap. Also if you have a
longer break time, it is a good idea to work out after your meal (Cooper, 2014).

Currently at Tewksbury Physical Therapy, six out of eight of our therapists do get a
lunch break. One of them, a man named Michael, happens to get a two hour lunch
block, so he always works out after he eats unless he is tired. Then he takes a nap. Our
office is able to allow him to do both because as a physical therapy office, we have gym
equipment and patient rooms with beds.

Employee Engagement
A lunch break does not have to mean eating alone, sitting in your office. In face NY
Times recommends that you do not just sit, but instead go for a walk, and actually
move around (Korkki, 2012). Fast Company adds on to that thought by saying if it is
nice out, eat outside to refresh your attention span (Cooper, 2014). Whether you are
eating outside on a nice day or going for a walk, you should not go alone. Grab a co
worker or two and eat and walk together. This will help you get to know the other
Gender, Equality, Gender And Gender Equality In Sports
A man versus a woman, the Battle of the Sexes , it was a match that viewers tuned into
everywhere. There was so much doubt expressed that a woman, Billie Jean King, could
beat her opponent, Bobby Riggs in a tennis match. Against all odds, Billie Jean King was
crowned with the victory. This legendary moment in history was important for the sport
of tennis, but also the little girls everywhere that were not allowed to participate in
athletics like their male peers. In light of Title IX , an amendment that promoted equality
and the prohibition of genderand race discriminationin any school or Federal funded
sport or activity, Billie Jean King became the face of feminismand gender equality, and
can be accredited for her contributions to the advancements for not just women athletes,
but all women. Because of this victory, women athletes became more accepted in
society. Before this match, there was so much chatter about women being weak and
brittle and that they did not size up to their male counterpart. People argued that there
was no way a woman could beat a man in athletics. But after this victory was won,
women athletics gained a new kind of acceptance. Girls everywhere were more
interested in playing sports and participating in athletic activities. Before, little girls
would get teased if they showed an interest in athletics, for example, getting called a
tomboy. Now today, it is very common to see male and female teams for sports in
education programs and other recreational leagues. The change in how people viewed
women in sports is very clear, and have come a long way since that tennis match in 1973
and the introduction of Title IX. It is now much more common to see teams for softball,
tennis, and basketball for girls. But this movement did not stop at sports, during this time,
the feminist movement was still an ongoing fight. Billie Jean King s victory was used as
a tool to show that women deserved equal opportunity in jobs, the home, and society in
general. King supported that women shouldn t have to fight for the same wages or job
opportunities amongst their male counterparts. Her publicity helped bring awareness of
these shortcomings, and have massively changed over the years. The tennis match

Intergenerational Relations Between The Members Of A
Family
Intergenerational relationships describe the characteristics of a society, which represent
the social and family connections between different generations by responsibility, respect,
reciprocity, and resilience. Scholars who are in the field of aging have crucial
responsibility in researching about the intergenerational relations between the members
of a family. This generally refers to family members with common lineage, such as
parents and their children or grandparents and their grandchildren. Family
intergenerational relationships differ from relations between cohorts in society. Social
interaction, affection, shared values, exchanges of help and support, and conflict are all
an extremely vital part of both types of relations. These ties also bring together
generations in a family, and society as a whole. As the population of the world ages,
people now are consumed most in intergenerational relationships compared to any times
in the past. Although studies of intergenerational family bonds from around the world
show that parents and child generations carry the strongest bond of affection,
nonetheless, a small amount of families face separation resulting from hostility leading to
cut offs within families and generations being drifted apart. Generation gaps also cause
much of brutal sufferings within families, as younger generations are distinctively eager
to make their own identities and legacies, while older generations maintain greater stake
due to their extreme
Essay on Racial Segregation in Beauty Pageants
Racial Segregation in Beauty Pageant
The United States of America supposedly encompasses resilience and advocates equality.
Apparently, the United States of America abides for progress on racial discrimination
and understands, accepts, and respects all races. But in reality we are not united with all
races; thus we just make up America, not the United States of America. President Barack
Obama affirms, ....there is not a black America and a white America and latino America
and asian America there s the United States of America (Obama). In pursuance to evolve
into the United States of America, as opposed to a disembodied one, we need to act like
the unrestricted, free willing, and affirmative country that we say we are.

If we did not think so ignorantly, then we would have realized that Nina stands as an
American, even though being of Arabic descent or practicing Islam would not make
her any less qualifiable for the crown. Nina comes from an Indian, more specifically a
Hindu family. Her parents are from Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh which lies hundreds
of kilometers away from Saudi Arabia. On top of that, Saudi Arabia and India have
had problems with each other and would not like to be affiliated with one another. My
guess of Nina being Arabic can be recorded as a nescience misunderstanding because of
Nina s complexion. Nina has a deep brown complexion and if she were to participate in
an Indian beauty pageant she would probably have a tough time being accepted in the
Indian audience as well. Although Nina is breathtakingly beautiful, she confronts the
ideal Indian beauty by having a darker skin tone. India gives importance to skin
lightening techniques, and the idea follows that the lighter the skin tone, the more
beautiful the girl is. The irony of Nina s win will redefine the beauty standards across
India and America.
As we have already established, Nina has Indian ethnicity, but she is American born. Like
Nina, I am an Indian born American too, and it is not always easy balancing Indian
cultures and American cultures together. Nonetheless, Nina shows off her Indian talents
without stepping out of American
