Lab Report Enzyme Catalase
In our lab, we tested how enzymes and substrates work and react together. An enzyme is
a protein that acts as an organic catalyst and lowers the activation energy needed to start
a chemical reaction. Each enzyme has only one specific job and is reusable. Enzyme
action begins when the substrate fits into the active site of an enzyme, and from there the
enzyme can further break down the substrate by putting stress on it, causing the bond to
break. In our lab, we used catalasethat was found in liver cells as our enzymes. Hydrogen
was used as the substrate that the catalase reacted with. When the hydrogen peroxidewas
poured onto the liver, it caused bubbles to rise up. The rate of the reaction was
recorded by determines on a scale of 0 5. Zero equaled no reaction, one equaled a slow
reaction, and the higher... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the lab various factors were changed in order to compare how different
environmental changes affected the rate of the reaction. A first test was conducted
with liver and hydrogen peroxide without an induced temperature change scored a 5.
Next, the catalase (liver) was heated to a high temperature and then hydrogen peroxide
was added. The reaction was not as fast, and produced a score of 3. A similar test was
done using another piece of liver but was placed in an ice bath and then hydrogen
peroxide was added. This produced an even slower reaction rate of 2. These three tests
demonstrate how temperature greatly influences the rate of enzyme action. When
enzymes reach above boiling point, they are denatured and no longer function. Optimal
temperatures for enzymes to function is 35 40 degrees Celsius. When the temperature
is lower than optimal, slow reactions occur. Further experiments were conducted to
show how pH levels affected enzyme action. Two mL of hydrogen peroxide was added
to three test tubes. Then, HCl was added to test tube 1, NaOH was

Right from the time the policy of reservation came into being, there has been an

It is evident that efficiency of public services will only increase by hiring the most

What leads to the other?

There is yet another disadvantage of the reservation system. The thought behind

reservation was to give everyone equal opportunities and reduce the social gap between
people caused by having different opportunities and responsibility in the society. But it
seems that they may be reinforcing the caste divisions.
Reservation enhances the identity politics and gives castes and ethnicity more
importance in the Indian society. In a country with such a huge diversity in religions,
beliefs and traditions, caste based reservations seem to be another way of fragmenting the
nation instead of bringing people together. (fokusindia.no)(Caste based reservations:
enhancing the differences?)

In this way, reservation system brutally perpetuates the caste system,a system which
everyone feels we need to do away with for better progress and development.

go through to get to the Supreme Court?

Parties who are not satisfied with the decision of a lower court must petition the U.S.
Supreme Court to hear their case. The primary means to petition the court for review is
to ask it to grant a writ of certiorari. This is a request that the Supreme Court order a
lower court to send up the record of the case for review (Supreme Court Decisions, 2015).

Rule 23.1 governs derivative suits in which a plaintiff seeks to assert a right belonging
to a corporation (or similar entity) in which the plaintiff is a shareholder, on behalf of the
corporation that is not pursuing the claim itself. Rule 23.2 governs actions by or against
unincorporated associations (Rule 23, 2009).
Diversity of citizenship is one of the factors that will allow a federal district court to
exercise its authority to hear a lawsuit. This authority is called diversity jurisdiction. It
means that a case involving questions that must be answered according to state laws
may be heard in federal court if the parties on the two sides of the case are from
different states. No matter how many parties are involved in a lawsuit, there must be
complete diversity in order for the federal court to exercise this type of authority. If a
single plaintiff is a citizen of the same state as any defendant, there is no diversity and
the case must be pursued in a state court (Diversity, n.d.).
Because the defendants were from the same state as the plaintiff, this would not fall
under a diversity of citizenship case. This case was about equal opportunity and gender
discrimination not about diversity in the sense of cultural diversity.

The two divisions were often on different pages and experienced communication
challenges. This created several pricing difficulties making it even harder to globally
market the products. To further the problem, the ID felt as though their R D received
less than sufficient manufacturing resources, which limited the ability to forecast the
global market. Difficulties in communication slowed R D, decision making, and
required a major change in the organizational structure. Gill decided to increase the
capabilities of the ID and give specific regions more power in the decision making
process. Regionalization: New structures were formed in order to approach the ID
problems. The organizational reconstruction focused on speed of results, process to be
driven by B L executives, and input from as many B L employees as possible. A
significant amount of time and money was dedicated to creating a task force that was
goal was to evaluate organizational structure. They concluded that it was necessary for
a fine tuning of the current organization structure, a regional structure, a product region
matrix, and a global product structure. Eventually the idea regionalization was adopted
by the Advisory Committee. The ID was to be dissolved and replaced by headquarters
in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Western Hemisphere. Jobs in
the ID were reallocated to different divisions and new products were developed
according to align with the region s needs.
