Causes Poverty Essay
Causes Poverty Essay
Writing an essay on the causes of poverty is a challenging task that requires a deep understanding of
economic, social, and political factors. Poverty is a multifaceted issue, and delving into its roots
involves extensive research and critical analysis. One must explore various dimensions such as
income inequality, lack of access to education and healthcare, economic policies, and systemic issues
that perpetuate poverty.
To begin with, gathering relevant and up-to-date information is crucial. This involves sifting through
academic journals, government reports, and reputable sources to build a comprehensive
understanding of the topic. As poverty is a global phenomenon, considering both local and
international perspectives adds complexity to the research process.
The essay should not merely list causes but also critically evaluate their interconnections and
impacts. This requires the ability to synthesize information and present a coherent argument that
highlights the nuanced relationships between different factors contributing to poverty. Addressing
counterarguments and alternative viewpoints further adds depth to the essay.
Crafting a compelling introduction that captures the reader's attention and provides context for the
issue is essential. The thesis statement should be clear and focused, outlining the main points that will
be explored in the essay. Each paragraph in the body should be well-structured, with a topic
sentence, supporting evidence, and analysis.
Moreover, maintaining a balanced tone while discussing sensitive issues related to poverty is crucial.
The essay should avoid oversimplification and be sensitive to the complex realities that individuals
living in poverty face. Integrating real-life examples and case studies can make the essay more
relatable and impactful.
In conclusion, summarizing the main points and reiterating the significance of addressing the root
causes of poverty is vital. The conclusion should leave a lasting impression on the reader, inspiring
them to reflect on the complexities of poverty and the need for comprehensive solutions.

Through My Creative Writing And Reading Experience, I
Have
Through my creative writing and reading experience, I have been exposed to a variety
of literary genres. My preferred genres have consistently been free verse poetry,
fiction, and non fiction. For the purpose of this class, I have chosen the genre of
creative non fiction. My focus will be literary essays that address humanity s universal
desire for a sense of identity and belonging; these essays will be written from a
personal perspective, containing anecdotes, internal conflicts, and external opinions.
Free verse poetry is one of the reasons I became a writer. In high school, it was my outlet
to express myself. When I took English 240 (Regent University), I wrote a poem titled
Open City, and I was convinced I would become a great poet.... Show more content on

Initially, I strongly disliked writing in this genre, mostly because of fear. Before taking
English 305, I hated writing about myself because it was too personal and awkward. My
professor for English 305 encouraged me to keep an open mind, and I halfheartedly
heeded his advice until I read How It Feels to Be Colored Me. After reading Hurston s
essay about racism and discrimination, I felt compelled to respond. I wrote and
struggled for weeks until produced an essay called A Ripped Out Prologue. My work
addressed how it felt to be an adopted from China. While I had written several non fiction
pieces before, this particular essay made me understand why people write non fiction.
Creative non fiction exposes truth in a beautiful way. Non fiction tells stories of
survival and endurance; it tells others that they are not alone in their suffering. English
326 also heavily influenced my decision to pursue creative non fiction. One of the
required essays was a literary journalism piece. My essay, Gender at the Pool, was about
a lifeguard s experience with gender inequality. Even though I do not plan to have a
future in literary journalism, this essay taught me that non fiction is much more than just
about me. Literary non fiction is about people real life people and their experiences.
After taking English 326, I knew creative non fiction was my desired future
Persuasive Essay On Gym Shorts Shops
Up until the late 1980s, men s gym shorts were very short. Knee length shorts were
rarely seen outside of safari parks. The first time today s baggy or bermuda look was
shown was when Michael Jordan wore baggy shorts in the Nike commercial with
Spike Lee in 1988. Nowadays, gym shorts are worn by adolescents on a daily basis in
the spring and summer months. While some boys prefer shorts that reach the calf, most
wear shorts that stop at the knee or just above, propagating the style as fashion. The
appeal of these knee length shorts as warm weather wear is diminishing as most adults
find the added length of cloth restrictive and counterproductive in truly active or
competitive sports. When getting shorts you look for many things. However I most
commonly look for a pair of shorts that are comfortable, affordable, and... Show more

For example, a store such as J.C. Pennys or Gordmans will give you a lower price of
Nike shorts compared to a Nike outlet in the mall. The Price will also affect the other
criterias of the shorts as well. Such as if you buy the cheaper ones they will be very
easy tear or rip or even may shrink in the wash. So what the case usually is if you pay a
decent price or even a large price amount they will be better quality. When it comes to
how fashionable Nike shorts are it really depends. It depends on what your trying to
ware. If you were to purchase a black pair they will tenditly look good with about any
kind of athletic shirt. However it is a little harder to match colors it will then make
you look bolder and stand out do to the solid one color all the way down your body.
Then if you are feeling really good you could wear the nicer and more expensive gym
shorts that have the designs and have the nicer materials. My preference is the nylon gym
shorts with the elastic band around the
Maritime Security Barriers
In the recent times, there have been several advancements in transportation. This has
been occasioned by the globalization trends. According to McNaught (2005),
international maritime security is a matter of critical concern in the global environment.
Sea transport remains one of the largest and most effective means of transport used
between continents. This paper provides a critique of the article Improving the securityof
containers in port related supply chains by Johan Scholliers, Antti Permala, Sirra
Toivonen, and Hannu Salmela.
The article has an implied research question that the authors intended to answer. The
question is: what are the technological options that can be used to enhance the integrity
and security of containers in port related supply chains? In this regard, the question is
academically rigorous as it examines a current issue in the global logistics and supply
chains. According to Gunasekaran (2012), there is a growing concern that terrorists can
use containers to deliver weapons of mass destruction to various destinations. Therefore,
the authors focused on a study on possible ways to solve the problem.
Research Questions and Hypothesis
The article consists of implied hypotheses or assumptions that the authors relied upon to
perform the study. One of the hypotheses is that technologies such as biometrics and
radio frequency identification (RFID) can be used to provide effective container
assessment. The second hypothesis is that application of

The U.S. government issues both instruments: Treasury notes have an original
maturity of2 to 10 years, and Treasury bonds have an original maturity of more than 10
years. Futures contracts on these instruments are very actively traded on the Chicago
Board of Trade. For the most part, there are no real differences in the contract
characteristics for Treasury note and Treasury bond futures; the underlying bonds
differ slightly, but the futures contracts are qualitatively the same. We shall focus here
on one of the most active instruments, the U.S. Treasury bond futures contract. The
contract is based on the delivery of a U.S. Treasury bond with any coupon but with a
maturity of at least 15 years. If the deliverable bond is callable, it cannot be callable for
at least 15 years from the delivery date. These specifications mean that there are
potentially a large number of deliverable bonds, which is exactly the way the Chicago
Board of Trade, the Federal Reserve, and the U.S. Treasury want it. They do not want a
potential run on a single issue that might distort prices. By having multiple deliverable
issues, however, the contract must be structured with some fairly complicated procedures
to adjust for the fact that the short can deliver whatever bond he chooses from among the
eligible bonds. This choice gives the short a potentially valuable option and puts the long
at a disadvantage. Moreover, it complicates pricing the contract,
Symphony No. 9 Summary
The concert I watched online was Symphony No. 9 From the New World composed by
the great Antonin Dvorak. This performance was done by the New York Philharmonic
and launched the New York Philharmonic s 175th anniversary season. This concert was
performed by an orchestra and was definitely a performance I enjoyed to watch and listen
to.
In the beginning of the performance, the orchestra begins with an adagio tempo, using
instruments such as cellos and violins. The tempo is very slow and soothing until it
suddenly interrupted by the sound of trumpets. This is setting a tone that something
very dramatic is about to happen. After the trumpets sound, oboes and flutes begin to
play using the same adagio tempo as it was used in the beginning of the performance.
As the flutes and clarinets slowly stop, you can see the conductor, Alan Gilbert, slowly
move his arms apart to instruct the orchestra to get prepared. Gilbert then swings his
arms up and the orchestra switches to an allegro tempo by using crescendo. Violins,
cellos, drums, French horns, tenor trombones and bass trombones are now used to create
a suspenseful tone as if something tragic has just happened. It then changes back to the
adagio tempo using instruments with low pitch and then transfers back to the oboes,
flutes and violins. The first ten minutes of the performance is a wide variation between
adagio and allegro and molto allegro and basically switches tempos between the three

Should Solitary Confinement Be Banned
For centuries solitary confinement has been around. According to de Merriam
Webster Dictionary solitary confinement is: the state of being kept alone in a prison
cell away from other prisoners . This method is used as a disciplinary action for
prisoners who commit devastating crimes, put other people s lives in danger, or for the
protection of oneself. Being under solitary confinement requires to be kept 23 hours on
a cell per day during the period of time estimated depending of the gravity of your fault.
This means staying alone by you, not interacting with society. So, should we keep using
it as a valid method?
Solitary confinement should be banned because it provides no real purpose of
rehabilitation. The primary purpose of prison system is rehabilitation. It refers to designed
activities that offer prisoners the chance to transform themselves into something better.
Rehabilitation could be reached by attempting to a psychologist or social worker, or by
taking educational courses in prison. However, this purpose is obviously forgotten with
the implementation of solitary confinement. The goal of a convict that is under solitary
confinement is oftento let time pass by as quickly as possible; not to change his ... Show

During solitary confinement communication with other prisoners is not allowed. It
might cause prisoners to have personality and mental health disorders. The risk of
having mental disorders, such as depression or schizophrenia, increases with those who
are being isolated. Confining convicts in small cells during a long period of time may
cause them to experience delusions and hallucinations, as well as becoming paranoid
and displaying symptoms of mental distress, making them lose their grip on reality and
even in some cases becoming them more violent. So prisoners are removed from society
during a long period of time expecting that after this isolation they would interact
properly with
