Descriptive Essay On Christmas

Crafting a descriptive essay on Christmas can be both a delightful and challenging endeavor. The
task requires more than just weaving words; it demands the ability to evoke the festive spirit and the
warmth associated with this special occasion. The challenge lies in capturing the essence of
Christmas, transcending the superficial glitter and delving into the emotions, traditions, and unique
experiences that make this holiday truly magical.

Detailing the sights, sounds, and aromas of Christmas requires a keen observational skill and a knack
for selecting words that paint vivid pictures in the reader's mind. You must navigate through the
labyrinth of memories, trying to encapsulate the joyous moments, the laughter, the aroma of freshly
baked cookies, the twinkling lights, and the cozy warmth that pervades the air during this time of
year.

However, the difficulty intensifies when attempting to convey the intangible aspects of Christmas –
the emotions of togetherness, the sense of gratitude, and the spirit of giving. Translating these
abstract feelings into a tangible and relatable narrative challenges even the most seasoned writers.
Striking a balance between the festive cheer and the deeper, more meaningful aspects of Christmas
can be akin to walking a tightrope.

Moreover, the familiarity of the theme poses a unique challenge – how to present a fresh perspective
on a topic that has been explored and celebrated by countless writers before. The risk of clichés and
predictable descriptions looms large, demanding creativity and a fresh angle to keep the reader
engaged.

In conclusion, writing a descriptive essay on Christmas involves more than just narrating events; it
necessitates the ability to infuse the prose with the enchantment and significance that the holiday
holds for individuals. It requires a delicate dance between nostalgia and innovation, tradition and
uniqueness. While challenging, the endeavor promises a rewarding experience as it allows the writer
to share the magic of Christmas through the power of words.

A REPORT ON THE EFFECTS OF SIBLING SEXUAL
ABUSE
A REPORT ON THE EFFECTS OF SIBLING SEXUAL ABUSE BY NWOKO ISRAEL.
I STUDENT NUMBER 53918126 UNIQUE NUMBER 322943 POST GRADUATE
CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION, UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH AFRICA. AUGUST,
2013. PREFACE In this report the word Sibling is used to refer to children who grow
up in the same family, whether they are step children, foster children, adopted children
or children by birth. Naturally and healthy sexual exploration between children of
similar age, size and developmental stage and sexual play that is mutual, voluntary and
not coercive , is not sibling abuse, or incest, can involve a brother and sister, two sisters
or two brothers but abuse by an older... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As in other forms of sexual abuse, sibling sexual abuse does not necessarily involve
sexual touching. The abuser may force two or more other children to engage in sexual
activity with one another. The abuser may force siblings to watch sexual activity or a
pornographic video; and the abuser may abuse siblings by repeatedly watching them
dress, shower or use the toilet when they don t want to be watched. (Marcia burke,
2005) 1.1. WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF SIBLING SEXUAL ABUSE? It can be
very upsetting to find out that sexual abuse is happening in your family. Sibling sexual
abuse remains one of the last taboos to be addressed by the society and as such, it is
rarely discussed in the media, or even among survivors themselves. It comes as a
shock to many people that children can present a risk to other children, but it is
becoming increasingly apparent that children (even children within families) can post
a very real risk. (Leder, 1991). Abuse situations similar to Tina s can be attributed to
her mother s marriage to John s father. Because sibling sexual abuse is often very
harmful and when sexual abuse is perpetrated by a sibling, in many ways, it is even
harder to break the silence, and there are certainly some special reasons that made Tina s
abuse especially difficult to disclose. 1.1.1 I didn t want
A Research Study On The Lesbian Community
A countertransference that may arise when doing therapy with the couple is towards
Jane hesitance to come out to her family because of their religious believes. This
therapist holds prejudice against people who use religion as an excuse to oppress others.
This therapist would prefer to push Jane to come out to her family without worrying
about her family s opinion because if her family is assumedly close minded, they do not
deserve Jane love and care. However, Jane is not in a place to confront her family.
Pushing Jane to come out to her family would be harmful to Jane if she is not ready.
Thus, this therapist pressuring Jane to be open with her family would be unethical. Also,
this therapist would be siding with Charlize. Another countertransference issue that may
arise when counseling this couple is that this therapist is inexperienced treating lesbian
couples. The Lesbian community is a minority population that this therapist has little
knowledge on providing culturally competent services for. This therapist may over think
statements before doing them because of the fear to be culturally inappropriate. A
stereotypethat this therapist has about sexual minorities is that genderroles are binary,
male and female, and even sexual minorities follow that gender binary. Because of that
stereotype, this therapist might attempt to categorize the feminine and the masculine
partner in the couple.
Also, a countertransference issue that might arise is towards Charlize. Charlize
The And Its Effects On Cell Function
(Windows to the Universe. 2014). If sufficient damage to DNA is achieved,
chromosome abnormalities may be noted, the damaged DNA can attempt to repair
itself, sometimes forming patterns dissimilar to its prior layout. Karaman et al (2005)
describes the removal of one or more nitrogenous bases within the DNA sequence as a
deletion error. Substitution is explicated as an error which occurs when one base pair is
replaced by another and insertion is defined as an error which arises as new base pairs
are inserted into the DNA sequence. These mutations can result in either little or serious
effect which can result in the loss of cell function. Little clarifies that the harmful effects
of radiation can be allocated into two conventional... Show more content on

The radiosensitivity of proliferating cells varies with the phase of the cell cycle.
(Pawlik and Keyomarsi. 2004). Bergonie and Tribondeau (1906) proposed the theory
that the radiosensitivity of a cell is directly proportional to how metabolically and
reproductively active the cell is and inversely proportional to how specialized the cell
is. Generally, Mitosis is considered to be the most radiosensitive stage within the cell
cycle with the S stage being the most radioresistant (Sun. 2000). Mitosis is the division
of a cell, involving the replication of DNA, this results in the cell nucleus containing
twice the amount of genetic material than beforehand (Marieb. 2015). The greater
amount of genetic material present in the nucleus during mitosis corresponds to the cell
being more radiosensitive as the genetic material is the most vulnerable area within the
cell (Stanford. 2013). In the statement given, Pearce et al. (2012) argues that children
have a greater risk of developing cancer due to the greater number of dividing cells and
volume of red bone marrow being exposed to significant ionising radiation exposures.
This statement is comparable to the work of Brenner (2001) who states that the
expected lifetime radiation risk will be more significant in children due to a longer
lifetime expectancy, allowing a longer period for cancer to develop. Other interpretations
such as AGIR (2013) challenge this view by suggesting that the elderly are

Film Analysis on 2009 s Precious

Analyzing a dynamic film like the 2009 Precious is difficult. The movie got a lot of
praise for the acting and the story that was portrayed but it also got a lot of heat from the
race that was portrayed in the movie. African Americans nationwide said the movie made
their African American ghettos into a sexually incest ridden, classless society and didn t
properly show any of the positive attributes that come from the African American ghettos.
In our course of Intra cultural communication we have studied through different topics,
ones that I think are shown in the movie are culture, race, class, and sexuality. I am going

Other reviews of the movie put the article in a positive light Latoya Peterson, the
editor of Racialicious.com, a blog about the intersection of race and popular culture,
said opposing views of the film are off base. Those reviews buy into the narrative that
there can only be one acceptable presentation of black life, Ms. Peterson said. They re
flattening the black experience, and in that way, he denies our humanity. Ms.
Peterson, who lives in the Washington area, said that she believed that Precious
effectively tackled many issues affecting young girls: sexual abuse, poverty, violence
and failing schools. Sexuality in the movie precious was one of the subjects I found
the most disturbing. Sexuality is defined as sexual character; possession of the
structural and functional traits of sex, recognition of or emphasis upon sexual
matters; involvement in sexual activity; an organism s preparedness for engaging in
sexual activity. There a number of ways in which sexual lines are crossed in the film.
Clareece is raped by her father and eluded her mother as well. Her two children are the
product of her father s rape, and her sexual say in anything is taken away. She is doing
these things for her parents and telling no one. She is being raped and taken advantage
of by both of her parents and the actress tells no one of this. This portrayal is extreme, I
am sure situations arise in this case but seeing the movie and watching the aspects of
Compare And Contrast The Architecture Of Ancient Greece...
Written Assignment Unit 2
The times when the ancient civilisations of Greece and Rome flourished are filled with
revolutionary advances in society but most notably in their respective cultures. While a
significant amount of time separated the two periods, Rome used many of ancient
Grecian works as a foundation for their own way of life with some tweaking here and
there. In that respect, the two periods greatly influenced and helped to shape Western
culture. This is especially true when it comes to the arts, particularly in architecture
which can be seen in two significant structure from each period: ancient Greece s
Parthenon and Rome s Pantheon.
In 447 B.C., the construction of the Parthenon began in the Acropolis at Athens, Greece.

Much of Roman culture was derived from the Greek with some slight differences such
as their respective gods and goddesses. The Romans had also retained many of the
architectural styles that the Greeks practiced and used them in building their own
structures such as the famed Pantheon. Unlike the Greek whose purpose for their
temples were to honour their city s patron god, the purpose of the Pantheon is not
exactly known aside from the fact that it is a temple. People believe that it was built as
a place for the emperor to make appearances that the public could be witness to in order
to remind the civilians of their emperor s power and god like status (Cartwright, 2013).
This theory is consistent with the ideas that we have learned through Roman
portraiture styles of their rulers that emulated styles seen in previous portraits in order
to legitimize their authority or align themselves with revered predecessors (Trentinella,
2003). Also, it is believed that the Pantheon is dedicated to all the planetary gods
instead of just one which was how the Greeks preferred. The Pantheon can be split into
two parts, the main building is circular and is made of brick and concrete and is more
in the style of the Romans compared to the second part which contains the porch and
entrance. The porch is very reminiscent of the Classical Greek era and even features
Prion Diseases Research Paper
TSE: Unique Neuroinvasive Pathogens Overview Transmissible spongiform
encephalopathies (TSEs), also referred to as prion diseases, are a range of progressive
neurodegenerative diseases that affect various mammals, including humans. These
diseases are caused by exposure to prions, infectious agents that result from the misfolded
form of a glycoprotein found at the surface of cells: PrPc. The abnormal variant (PrPSc)
is highly resistant to heat, chemicals and disinfection procedures such as formalin
disinfection. It requires autoclaving at 137ºC for up to an hour to sterilize contaminated
materials. In some of these conditions prions first accumulate in the lymphoid tissues,
which are found within the route of infection, before reaching the brain.... Show more

Infectious agents enter the brain through parasympathetic and sympathetic efferent
fibres, with one difference: the parasympathetic route of infection does not involve the
spinal cord. Instead, it goes directly to the CNS (McBride et al., 2001). TSE agents
therefore reach the CNS in the opposite direction that efferent (motor) fibres follow
(i.e. from the target organ towards the brain and not vice versa). As seen in Figure 3,
infectious agents run through the splanchnic nerve (sympathetic) to reach the spinal
cord thoracically. From there, they spread to the brain in caudal cranial direction. The
way prions spread from FDCs to peripheral nerve fibres is uncertain, as connection
between an FDC and a nerve synapse is unusual (Felten and Felten, 1991). However,
intracellular transfer of prions to the peripheral nervous system (PNS) could occur via
exosomes from FDCs (Fevrier et al., 2004). Dendritic cells may also potentially transfer
these agents to the PNS (Aucouturier et al. 2001). Distance between FDCs and peripheral
nerves affects the rate of neuroinvasion, which means it may be faster through lymphoid
tissues situated closer to peripheral nerves than others (e.g. Peyer s patches compared to

Examples Of A Perfect Utopian Society
Perfect Societies Have you ever wanted a perfect utopian society? There are many
examples of societies that have failed and some that haven t. For example the The
Amish is a very good example because they have kept their community together . In my
opinion Utopias are possible, but to have an accomplished society you need requirement,
values, and beliefs. The requirements are pretty brief. One is you cannot be private about
your life. You also cannot be better than anyone else. Which means you cannot brag about
something you are good at. Another thing is you cannot put yourself in front of anyone
or use technology. In most of the communities you have to provide or somehow
contribute like
