How To Install Delphi
How To Install Delphi
Delphi is a software development tool that allows people to create their own computer
programs and applications. Imagine you have a set of building blocks, and you want to build
something unique out of them. Delphi provides a structured way to arrange these building
blocks in a specific order to create functional software.
Instead of writing a whole program from scratch, Delphi offers pre-made building blocks called
"components" that you can use to put together your software. It's like assembling a puzzle
where each piece performs a specific task. These components represent different commands
and functions that the computer can understand.
With Delphi, you can design the way your program looks and how it behaves. You arrange
these components visually on the screen, almost like putting together a picture. Then, when
you're finished, you can tell the computer to follow your instructions, and it will run the program
you've created.
Please note: Delphi is compatible with Windows ONLY and it is incredibly important that you
purchase a Windows computer and NOT an Apple iOS device should you wish to install and
use the software development tool.
How to install Delphi
Windows devices:
In order to successfully install Delphi on a Windows computer, you must first ensure that you
have enough space and the correct versions of Windows. Delphi can run on either the 32-bit
or 64-bit versions of Windows, and you may still need to download the Microsoft .NET
Framework 3.5 for Windows during the Delphi installation process.
Step 1:
To get the correct installer you need for Delphi, please click on the link below:

Step 2:
Once you’ve clicked on the link above, you will be required to create an account by adding
your personal information as per the screenshot below. Learners must use their school
email addresses and under the company text field, add the school name.
Step 3:
Ensure that the option that shows you have read the terms and conditions is ticked along
with the reCapture text field so that you’re able to download Delphi.
Once that is done, click on “Download Now.”
Step 4:
You will find the Delphi installer saved in your Downloads folder and an email containing
the necessary login details will be sent to your mailbox. To start the installation process,
double click on the RAD Studio installer.
Important note: The email address that you used when signing up, is the email address
where the unique code (called a product serial number) is sent. Please check this email
inbox for the product serial number.
Step 5:
Select the “I already have a product serial number” option then click “Install”.
Step 6:
On the page that pops up next, ensure that you “agree to the RAD Studio Licence
Agreement and Privacy Policy”,then click “ Next”.
Step 7:
Once the installation begins, you will be prompted to insert the “Serial Number” you
received via email, then click on “Register”.
Step 8:
Because you will be installing Delphi on Windows, please select the “Delphi Windows
Community” option and press platform then click on “Continue”.
Step 9:
Delphi will then download all the necessary plugins in order to complete the installation.
Step 10:
Should your IT Learning Facilitator specify that you need the “Windows Software
Development Kit”, a pop-up will open after installing Delphi asking you to install the tool.
Select the location to install the software development kit and then click on “Next”.
Once you have followed the steps outlined above, you will have successfully installed Delphi
to your device.
